We are seeking a dynamic Area Sales Manager to lead our ready-mix concrete business across the Charleston market. 


This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to drive growth, foster strong customer relationships, and lead a high-performing sales team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the regional ready-mix concrete sales team, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
  • Drive profitable growth by developing and executing effective sales strategies tailored to both commercial and residential customer segments.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the regional sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate with the Regional General Manager to align sales initiatives, forecasts and performance goals.
  • Work with the Area Operations Manager to ensure delivery of a world-class customer experience, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and maintain competitiveness and profitability.
  • Direct the sales organization to achieve volume, margin, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key accounts, contractors, and developers.
  • Oversee pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and bid processes to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with marketing and technical services teams to support sales initiatives and enhance customer engagement.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in the ready-mix, aggregates, or construction materials industry.
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably within the construction materials or ready-mix concrete industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and business objectives.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly within assigned area and occasionally outside the region as business needs require. 
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record in accordance with company standards.
