Job description

We have a job opening and exciting opportunity for a full-time Operations Manager in our Grapevine, TX location. The primary role of the Operations Manager is to drive performance and have responsibility for oversight of personnel, receiving, inventory, shipping, logistics, fiscal and facilities activities at the Distribution Center. The Operations Manager will drive consistency and cost reduction through the creation and implementation of standardized work processes; and will closely monitor distribution results and execution against company standards.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include overall management of the Distribution Center. Responsible for possessing full understanding of the goals and objectives of the DC and implementing strategies to support those goals and objectives. This position is responsible for infusing Concordance culture into the DC, the staff, and business transactions; and for collaborating with various departments within Concordance to achieve levels of outstanding service that the company is committed to providing. In addition, the Operations Manager is responsible for meeting Distribution Center financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. The Operations Manager will foster good communication with all internal departments to ensure alignment of all goals / objectives. The Operations Manager will play a key role in hiring, training, developing and managing team members.
  • Reviews, recommends, and develops changes in operations, processes, and systems. Ensures the proper implementation and maintenance of approved changes.
  • Ensures the highest standards are achieved in the areas of safety, personnel, efficiency and product quality, while complying with all company policies and legal regulations.
  • Develops relationships and excellent lines of communication with all internal and external key members; develops a clear understanding of the needs and expectations of the account.
  • Leads warehouse personnel and supervisors; including the hiring, training, development, supervision, and performance management of team members.
  • Leads all production from product order fulfillment to completion of kits.
  • Provides clear understanding and constant feedback to team members and leadership on progress against agreed upon goals and objectives.
  • Proactively works with cross functional teams, both internal and external, to ensure that the company meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers. Investigate service failures, and develop, implement and monitor appropriate corrective and preventative action.
  • Assists in developing warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems; evaluating and recommending new equipment.
  • Collaborates and communicates with external suppliers to develop strong and effective relationships that support the company's growth and profitability plans.
  • Provides leadership to team members by exhibiting a positive attitude while navigating through industry and company changes.
  • Participates in company meetings and initiatives as appropriate. Be an active participant in sharing best practices, and industry knowledge with team members.
  • Represents the company to the community in a positive manner, consistent with its marketing and customer goals.
  • Travel required 15% of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You will Need to be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of Operations-Distribution experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience supervising, training, developing and providing direction to staff.
  • Ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Broad working knowledge of Distribution Center processes and operations.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA and State Laws.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Voice Pick and VAI systems (or similar warehouse management or operating system).
  • Strong customer service, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively build relationships are essential.
  • Understanding of performance management and its principles.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently.
  • Solid analytical abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and able to successfully execute initiatives with some guidance and accomplish stated goals.
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a leadership team.
  • Ability to build relationships at various levels and influence decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.
