What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Description:
Ball State University is seeking an Temporary Assistant Track & Field and Cross Country Coach for External Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction, coaching, and mentorship to student-athletes while supporting the philosophy and objectives of the Ball State Track & Field and Cross Country program.
- Coordinate recruiting operations, including recruiting correspondence, visit planning, database management, and compliance with NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and University regulations.
- Assist with the program's social media presence, branding initiatives, digital content, and external communications to promote the success of the program and enhance engagement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with alumni, supporters, and community partners through outreach initiatives and engagement activities.
- Assist in the planning, promotion, coordination, and execution of camps and clinics, including registration, communication, and operational logistics.
- Provide coaching support during practices, competitions, recruiting events, camps, and other program activities as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Coordinate special events and assist with administrative projects that support the overall operation and visibility of the program.
- Maintain effective communication with prospective student-athletes, current student-athletes, alumni, and other program stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience as an athlete or coach in track and field and/or cross country at a competitive level
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
