Job description

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join a transportation organization in Lowell, Arkansas and provide leadership for a growing service-focused operation. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving logistics environment and enjoys building efficient teams, strengthening client satisfaction, and improving daily execution. The role offers the chance to influence operational performance, support business growth, and help create a high-accountability culture within a developing division.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily transportation activities to ensure shipments are managed efficiently, service commitments are met, and customer expectations are consistently exceeded.
• Guide, coach, and support operations staff while creating a team environment centered on accountability, development, and strong service standards.
• Coordinate onboarding activities for new customers and help implement solutions that set the foundation for smooth ongoing service.
• Build productive partnerships with customers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues quickly and maintain reliable communication.
• Evaluate current workflows, introduce process improvements, and establish practical operating standards that enhance consistency and scalability.
• Work closely with commercial partners to support client retention, contribute to growth efforts, and align service execution with customer needs.
• Monitor key performance indicators, service results, and financial outcomes to drive operational efficiency and support profitability goals.
• Contribute to transportation planning and pricing decisions by identifying service options that balance customer requirements with operational effectiveness.• At least 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, brokerage, supply chain, or a closely related operational environment.
• Prior experience leading, supervising, or mentoring team members in an operations or customer service setting.
• Practical knowledge of less-than-truckload transportation and the operational demands of a fast-paced freight environment.
• Hands-on experience working with carriers, customers, and transportation management or dispatch-related systems.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a track record of handling service issues, scheduling challenges, and shifting priorities effectively.
• Clear communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across internal teams and external partners.
• Background in brokerage operations, carrier management, customer service, or transportation planning is highly valued.
