Job description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the PACU Holding - MS/Tele unit is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to post-operative patients who are fully recovered and awaiting disposition. This role involves managing a variety of patient diagnoses including ortho, neuro, GYN, and general surgery cases. The nurse will perform patient assessments, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care. Strong post-operative experience and at least one year of RN experience are preferred.
Responsibilities:
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience, preferably with post-operative care.
  • BLS certification.
  • Proficiency in cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
  • Skills in peripheral line care, IV insertion and maintenance, and oxygen administration.
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use.
  • Ability to use Rapid Response and Code team protocols.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience in PACU or post-operative nursing.
  • Familiarity with total joint replacement patient care.
  • Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing.
Special Considerations:
  • Float to medical-surgical PRN unit required.
  • No weekends, holidays, or on-call required.
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with patient ratios of 5:1 to 7:1 during day/evening shifts.
  • Orientation provided in PACU Extended Stay.
  • Locals not accepted; candidate must reside more than 75 miles away.
  • Scrubs provided.
Scheduling:
  • Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM shift.
  • No weekend, holiday, or call shifts.
