  • Collaborate with sales to ensure event orders include appropriate equipment, labor, setup time, and technical details.
  • Assign technicians to job orders based on event needs, availability, and skill level.
  • Coordinate equipment preparation, delivery, load-in, setup, testing, operation, room changes, strike, and return.
  • Work closely with the Rigging Manager, PCC departments, AV Concepts Distribution Center, project managers, and technical specialists.
  • Identify and resolve staffing, equipment, scheduling, technical, and logistical concerns well in advance.
  • Serve as the onsite operational leader during major events, load-ins, room turns, and strikes.
  • Conduct crew briefings and clearly communicate event plans, responsibilities, timelines, and safety expectations.

  • Ensure event changes are updated in IntelliEvent Lightning and communicated to affected teams.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, training, and accountability to technicians.
  • Assist with technician hiring, onboarding, development, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients, event organizers, PCC personnel, and internal teams.
  • Monitor equipment condition, inventory, storage, transfers, maintenance, and security.
  • Monitor labor hours and help control overtime, transportation, subrental, and equipment-related costs.
  • Promote and enforce AV Concepts, PCC, OSHA, and event-specific safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of audiovisual, live-event, convention, or technical-production experience.
  • Experience leading technical crews and coordinating event operations, labor, equipment, and schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of professional audio, video, projection, displays, lighting, signal distribution, temporary power, and meeting-room AV systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organization, communication, leadership, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple events, teams, deadlines, and changing priorities.
  • Ability to read event orders, equipment lists, schedules, floor plans, and technical diagrams.
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and use IntelliEvent Lightning and other AV Concepts systems.
  • Ability to satisfy PCC background-screening, security, and access requirements.

Previous convention-center, hotel, arena, or multi-event venue experience is preferred.

Rigging coordination experience, OSHA 10 or 30 hour course completion are also preferred.

Schedule and Physical Requirements

The role involves extended standing and walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and safely lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling audiovisual equipment. Work may take place in meeting rooms, exhibit halls, loading docks, storage areas, and other active convention-center environments.

Required personal protective equipment must be worn, including ASTM F2413-compliant protective footwear where applicable.
