The express claims department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the new role of express claims specialist I.  This HQ-based role primarily handles 1st party auto exposures eventually including total loss settlement, 1st party injury exposures and eventually certain property claims with no dollar authority limit. 

This position will be based in the HQ (Cincinnati) area.  This is a salaried (exempt) role with promotional opportunities.  

Starting pay: The pay range for this position is $52,000 - $65,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be ready to:

  • Directly handle assigned 1st party auto and additional property claims with no dollar authority limit
  • Complete through, detailed claim investigations including injury recorded statements, partner with SIU and onboarding experts when needed - comprehensive review of police reports, hospital records and medical information including private data
  • Analyze auto or property coverage forms including specialized personal and commercial auto and property forms, complete complex coverage letters including reservation of rights or claim declination or position letters
  • Complete analysis of auto estimates, routine negotiations with body shops and service providers regarding labor rates and work product
  • Work with the casualty claims department for exposures excess of $100,000
  • Monitoring and supporting exceptional claim service to ensure high customer satisfaction

Be equipped with:

  • Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Prior claims-handling experience preferred but not required for the right candidate
  • The ability to work independently, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with the ability to make informed decisions
  • A bias towards action, a proactive mindset and someone who can take ownership of a file from start to finish
  • Experience generating quality written communication skills and ability and a desire to learn how to author complicated business and coverage letters

You've earned:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, associate's degree required
  • Candidates with prior leadership experience in any industry will be given preference
  • Pursuit of AINS or AIC designation exam study or completion of either.  The selected candidate will be expected to complete AIC coursework within two-years of hire date supported by the company
