Job description

Inside Sales Customer Service Representative

Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking an Inside Sales Customer Service Representative to join our team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin!

The Inside Sales Customer Service Representative is responsible for processing customer quotations and orders, responding to customer inquiries, and supporting sales activities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. This role works closely with customers, outside sales representatives, and internal departments to ensure accurate order processing, timely delivery, and effective resolution of customer concerns.

Responsibilities:
  • Process customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs), purchase orders, and sales orders.
  • Prepare quotations and provide pricing, order status, delivery, and product information to customers.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, returns, and service-related issues.
  • Coordinate with outside sales representatives, Account Managers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Accounting to support customer requirements and ensure order accuracy.
  • Process shipping paperwork, export documentation, and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain records related to sales activity, customer commitments, complaints, and order status.
  • Monitor inventory availability and assist in expediting priority orders when necessary.
  • Investigate and help resolve customer concerns in collaboration with internal departments.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and ERP software for order entry, pricing, reporting, and customer account management.
  • Support continuous improvement of customer service and sales processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training, coursework, or an Associate degree in business, sales, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-4 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, order management, or a related role; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of sales office procedures, order processing, quotations, and pricing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment within established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of pricing, sales, and business information.
  • Familiarity with electrical transformer products and specifications is preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office environment with regular computer use.
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing/shop areas.
  • Occasional travel to customer facilities may be required.
