Job Summary
This position will be responsible for leading & managing Acuity's Trade Compliance Operations team in the U.S. and the Center of Excellence team responsible for product and part classification. The Manager, Trade Compliance Operations, is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant movement of goods. This role manages a team of Trade Compliance Analysts and acts as the primary liaison between customs brokers, internal operations, supply chain, and global trade leadership. This position ensures adherence to global customs regulations, internal trade policies, and company standards, while driving continuous improvement, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
• Lead, Develop, & mentor a team of Trade Compliance Analysts
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures, KPI's, and drive continuous improvement plans for all key processes
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture aligned with global trade objectives
• Drive efficient & robust import & export custom clearance procedures between Mexico, U.S. and Canada.
• Analyze and aggregate the causes of customs clearance issues to drive improvement actions with our partners
• Serve as the main point of contact for global day-to-day inquiries from customs brokers and establishing key metrics and continuous improvement with broker partners
• Ensure HTS codes, Country of Origin, pricing, and incoterms are accurate for all import and export data.
• Work with freight forwarders, US customs officers, custom brokers, and internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to customs and import and export regulations
• Ensure compliance with CTPAT
• ACE reporting and portal management for all Business Units
• Responses to Customs Requests for Information
• Executing and updating SOP's for Restricted Party Screening, and duty drawback
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
• Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management and Logistics preferred
• 5+ years' experience with import/export global trade matters
• Prior experience leading an operations team
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Understanding of Free Trade Agreements and preferential duty programs
Preferred Skills and Experience
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, Oracle, OneSource, Amber Road, or similar Trade Software
• Knowledge of the Customs Compliance Regulations (domestic/global import/export and application of export/import trade regulations
• Detailed and task-oriented self-starter who can develop effective networks with internal and external customers.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to respond efficiently and effectively to time-critical issues with competing / conflicting priorities. (Strong sense of urgency)
• Working knowledge of incoterms
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience in developing strong collaborative teams

The range for this position is $83,300.00 to $164,400.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
