Job description

PWS Title: Principal Subject Matter Expert Breaching Operations Location: Fort Belvoir, VA Clearance Type: Top Secret Responsibilities: * Serve as the Breaching SME supporting the SGM and Deputy for Breaching, working with government partners, academic labs, and industry to advance SOF breaching capabilities. * Develop, assess, and refine new tools and technologies for explosive and mechanical breaching to support SOF operations. * Support preparation and development of requirements documentation including ICDs, CDDs, SPECAT messages, BOIPs, Test Plans, and project folders. * Provide advanced advice and training on drilling techniques, explosive planning factors, charge preparation, and charge emplacement. * Design, fabricate, and test commercial and industrial blasting products for SOF breaching applications. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Minimum 15+ years of operational experience in heavy and medium explosive and mechanical breaching, including at least 5 years supporting SOF or comparable special mission units. * In-depth knowledge of breaching and entry techniques, tactics, and procedures. * Demonstrated experience developing or validating breaching-related requirements and test plans. * Ability to communicate technical breaching concepts clearly to both operators and non-technical stakeholders. * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, explosives technology) or equivalent operational experience. * TOP SECRET clearance. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous service in SOF breaching units or specialized breaching elements. * Experience transitioning breaching tools from concept through test to fielding.
