Job description

Kforce has a client in Baltimore, MD that is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Audit Associate to support payroll operations by reviewing payroll data, resolving employee inquiries, and ensuring accurate payroll processing. This role serves as a key point of contact for payroll-related questions and assists with auditing payroll information, processing timesheet data, and maintaining a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience supporting payroll or HR operations. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and manage the payroll inbox, responding to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner Serve as the first point of contact for payroll-related questions, including missed, inaccurate, or delayed payments Research, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll issues while escalating complex matters as needed Review payroll data for accuracy and identify discrepancies or processing errors Enter and process manual timesheet information in accordance with payroll deadlines and procedures Collaborate with Payroll and HR teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing Maintain accurate records of payroll inquiries, resolutions, and audit activities Support payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance initiatives Assist with payroll reporting and documentation as needed Contribute to process improvements that enhance payroll accuracy and employee experience Requirements: Prior experience in payroll, HR support, customer service, or a related role Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion Strong problem-solving and customer service abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel Preferred Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or related field Experience supporting payroll processing or payroll auditing functions Knowledge of payroll regulations, timekeeping systems, and payroll best practices Experience working within HRIS or payroll software platforms Key Competencies: Payroll Support Payroll Auditing Employee Relations Timekeeping & Payroll Data Entry Customer Service Problem Solving Attention to Detail Communication Skills Process Improvement Confidentiality & Compliance The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range.
