Job description

GRF CPAS & Advisors, has been part of the Washington, DC metropolitan region since 1981. The firm provides outsourced accounting, auditing, risk advisory and consulting, and tax services to an extensive client base, which consists of nonprofit organizations, government contractors, professional service firms and others. GRF CPAs & Advisors, based in Bethesda, MD is in search of an Audit Associate to join our team.

Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid - 3x/week onsite)

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team to perform audits of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Assist the team in planning audit engagements
  • Perform tests of internal controls under the supervision of management
  • Perform other accounting and auditing duties as assigned by supervisory personnel
  • Become proficient in audit software and other required software as necessary
  • Interact with colleagues and staff in a professional manner
  • Act as a team player demonstrating high organizational skills
  • Identify potential issues and opportunities for audit efficiencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited college/university (major in business related field is preferable, but not required).
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with computer, including Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles (preferable, but not required)
  • Demonstrate analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgment and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn
