Job Description

Role: Procurement Analyst Specialist

Location: Jacksonville FL

Duration: 06 months

Required Skills: Finance industry (or finance projects), hands-on specialist analyst, expense saving

  • Must have finance industry experience (or worked on finance projects as an absolute minimum)
  • Experienced, hands-on specialist, perhaps has been working as part of a bigger team
  • Ability to analyze a lot of data and make decisions/recommendations for the department based on the big picture
  • Some project management experience would be ideal

Responsible for identifying and implementing 3rd party/vendor expense reduction opportunities within organization's largest Business Segment. Build partnerships and trusted advisor relationships with Line of Business senior level management to provide thought leadership and best practices regarding expense reduction strategies. Requires strong understanding of 3rd party/vendor optimization best practices, categorization, and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment. Responsible for complex procurement and spend analysis and recovery auditing. Requires highest level understanding of organization's business systems and financial targets. Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts.

General duties & responsibilities:

  • This individual will be responsible for analyzing and understanding large amounts of disparate data and subsequently producing valuable insights for executive consummation (examples needed)
  • The demonstrated ability to view and tie together vast amounts of data from various sources and produce a cohesive, innovative strategy
  • Discover, Plans, performs, and implements spend optimization
  • Organizes, leads, and facilitates cross-functional project teams
  • Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities
  • Measures performance against process requirements
  • Aligns improvement to performance gaps
  • Provides consultation to lines of business on optimization methods
  • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement, and control
  • Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes
  • Communicates team progress
  • Performs cost and benefit analyses
  • Performs other related duties as required.

General knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Financial industry experience
  • Professional services project and IT project knowledge and experience
  • Experience evaluating large amounts of data to craft innovative business solutions (examples needed)
  • Professional working knowledge and high level experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Broad knowledge finance and finance systems, business practices and processes
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services industry practices, regulations, and processes
  • Basic knowledge of one or more end-to-end systems development life cycles (i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development) and conversion methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of the tools, techniques and principles used in business process development, documentation, and re-engineering
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one appropriate process methodology (e.g., ISO, Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Proficiency in quality management methods, tools, and technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
  • Excellent training/presentation skills to educate the organization on new or updated processes
  • Willingness to shares relevant technical, process, and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal, team-building, negotiation, conflict management and time management skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Is resourceful, engaged, and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas
