Job Opportunity: Full-Time BIM Specialist

ย Garrett Electric is a leader in the commercial industrial electric arena, and we are seeking a skilled and versatile BIM Specialist to join our esteemed team.ย 

Purpose:

The BIM Specialist will use software and other technologies to produce digital representations of a construction projects lifecycle, form design to construction and operation. The BIM Specialist will Provide project teams direct support in maintaining model fidelity and alignment to BIM standards. This role will proactively look to improve Garrett's BIM deliverables by working as part of Garrett's project team.

Duties:

  • Work hand in hand with project teams
  • Provide BIM leadership on assigned projects via BIM development & management, and project model organization and planning.
  • Maintain the project(s) model fidelity across all disciplines.
  • Hold regular meetings with the project team to review model status and model deliverables.
  • Integrate Garrett's BIM automation capabilities with assigned project teams.
  • Be a resource to project teams and develop innovative solutions to project needs.
  • Interface regularly with project leadership.
  • Assist with Garrett's QA/QC model coordination.
  • Maintain document archives.
  • Perform other functions as required/requested.

Skills and Educational Requirements:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Three to five years of successful experience working with (specific BIM software/tools) with advanced documentation and modeling skills.
  • Experience in creating quality/detailed shop drawings.
  • A level of care and focus to provide solutions in the most effective way possible, balancing the "perfect" solution with a "feasible" solution to provide scalable, reliable and efficient solutions to the project teams.
  • Proficiency and understanding of BIM tools including Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Recap, Bluebeam, AutoCAD ACC Cloud Work-sharing, Civil 3D
  • Aptitude for reading and writing technical documents
  • Knowledge in use of project layout tools such as total stations and GPS layout tools.
  • Demonstrated project management skills

Physical Demands:

Both jobsite and office work require the ability to communicate verbally, the ability to type, good manual dexterity and visual acuity.ย  Occasional jobsite work may involve climbing, bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying equipment and twisting.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
