Job description

Position Summary:

Delta Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Exercise Clinician to join our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation team. In this role, you'll assess, plan, and deliver individualized exercise and rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Working in collaboration with physicians and care teams, you will support patients in improving their fitness, health behaviors, and overall quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to create individualized exercise prescriptions based on patient-specific needs, conditions, and goals.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans to ensure safety and effectiveness throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Educate patients, families, and care teams on exercise goals, risk factor modification, and health promotion.
  • Identify abnormal cardiopulmonary responses and adverse reactions during exercise.
  • Provide hands-on support and supervision during exercise sessions, including EKG, BP, and oxygen saturation monitoring.
  • Perform technical assessments including venipuncture, skinfold measurements, circumference assessments, and advanced EKG interpretation.
  • Conduct stress testing as ordered by physicians.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist in patient orientations and new assessments.
  • Support the maintenance and calibration of exercise and monitoring equipment.
  • Serve as a resource for wellness and prevention programming across departments.
  • Uphold safety, regulatory, and hospital policy standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
    - OR -
    Current Colorado licensure as an RN or RT
  • BLS certification required upon hire
  • ACLS certification (required within 90 days of hire)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in cardiac rehab preferred
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in exercise physiology, nursing, or respiratory therapy preferred
  • ACSM-CEP certification highly preferred

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in EKG monitoring and interpretation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Comfort with conducting both group and individual exercise sessions
  • Experience with patient education and goal setting in chronic disease management

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Capacity to lift/move up to 80 lbs unassisted
  • Manual dexterity for operation of complex exercise and monitoring equipment
  • Must be able to demonstrate patient exercise activities
  • Capable of responding quickly to alarms and patient needs
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in high-stress clinical situations
