Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Leads and expands a community-based sports medicine outreach program serving local high schools in Robeson County, area colleges and universities, and regional athletic organizations. This role is responsible for building partnerships, coordinating comprehensive athletic training and event coverage, supervising outreach staff, and developing injury prevention initiatives that improve athlete safety, performance, and access to high-quality musculoskeletal care.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Required: Bachelorโ€™s degree in athletic training, rehab or healthcare field.ย  Three years of general experience related to rehab services or health administration. May require valid NC Driverโ€™s license and access to use of an automobile.

Preferred:ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Advanced degree (Masterโ€™s or PhD) in Athletic Training, Athletic Medicine, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Health Sciences, Sports Science, or a closely related field.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with current BOC certification and state licensure/eligibility

ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to unique needs of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. current CPR/AED (BLS) certification, eligibility for practice or employment under applicable state regulations, and demonstrated experience working with organized sports, athletic programs, or sports medicine outreach initiatives.
