Job Summary

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Full-time, Contract

In-Office | Rochester, NY, United States

6am – 7pm; 6pm – 7am: 13hr D/N Rotating Shift Schedules; on call/callback; holidays, weekends per unit needs
Duration: 6-9 months.

16-bed acuity-adaptable Pediatric Cardiac Care Center caring for critically ill pediatric congenital cardiac patients.

Advanced Practice Providers serve in a primary covering provider role and should be comfortable managing patients with congenital heart disease, including complex anatomy and physiology, in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

The APP team cares for a wide range of high-acuity patients including pre- and post-operative pediatric cardiac surgical patients, high-risk single ventricle physiology, open chest management, arrhythmia management, vasopressor support, external and internal pacemakers, VA/VV ECMO, and CRRT.

While knowledge of ICU procedural skills is essential, the APP role is not primarily procedural. Our unit also occasionally provides care for adult patients with congenital heart disease requiring medical or post-operative management, as well as PICU boarder patients with a variety of critical care needs.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and thrives in a dynamic critical care setting alongside physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary team members.

Must Haves:

· 2 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac ICU as APP

· Knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and physiology

· Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

· BLS from AHA

· PALS from ABA

Preferred:

· Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification
