Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
LOCATION: City Hall - 632 W 6th Ave
Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Example of Duties
Under the general direction of the Employment Services Supervisor, this position is responsible for multiple onboarding duties and data entry tasks to ensure the timely hiring of selected applicants, as well as the timely creation and posting of position vacancy announcements. Daily duties consist of, but are not limited to, preparing and posting position vacancy announcements, screening and analyzing applications and referring qualified applicants to the department's hiring team, making employment offers, request union dispatches, sending onboarding documents to candidates, data entry and filing of completed employee packets, submitting referrals for required pre-hire screenings, scheduling pre-hire testing, complete DOT packets for compliance, occasionally assist during new hire orientation presentations, and complete other onboarding process requirements as needed. This position assists in providing job placement options during layoff processes and ADA reassignments. Notify applicants who are not successful, review unselected applicants, and work with the Municipal Recruiter to suggest other open opportunities to apply for. Participate in department and division meetings, Municipal job fairs and possible other events. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and six (6) years of human resources experience.
OR
Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline and four (4) years of human resources experience.
OR
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline and two (2) years of human resources experience.

Military Service Interview Preference
Veterans who wish to be considered for interview preference, as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D, must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, recognizing the person as a veteran. The attached documentation must show an honorable discharge or general (under honorable conditions) discharge. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.
Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference, as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D, must attach proof of current service to the application. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows the full name, date of birth, Social Security
Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual's command organization, and shows the name, signature, title, and contact information of the signer providing the statement of service. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.
