Job description

Vanguard is reshaping how it serves the most complex and sophisticated individual investors in the country. Within the firm's Private Client Group (PCG)-the division dedicated to Ultra-High-Net-Worth clients-leadership is seeking a proven executive to take the helm of the West Region, based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
This is a rare, high-visibility role at a pivotal moment. Vanguard's UHNW business is evolving-rethinking its service model, deepening client advocacy, and expanding its footprint with some of the largest self-directed investors in the firm's ecosystem. The leader who steps into this seat will inherit a tenured, highly specialized team of Relationship Managers and Executives managing multi-billion-dollar books of business, and will be expected to elevate both the client experience and the team's strategic impact across the enterprise.
This is not a maintenance role. It is a mandate to lead transformation-blending deep client relationship instincts with operational rigor, cross-functional influence, and the kind of enterprise thinking that positions a region as a model for the broader business.
Lead a Premier Advisory Team
• Serve as a leader of leaders for a team of Arizona-based Relationship Managers and Executives who advise Vanguard's most complex individual investors-clients with significant, multi-faceted wealth management needs.
• Coach and develop a highly specialized crew, setting the bar for client advocacy, retention, relationship depth, and growth across multi-billion-dollar books of business.
• Own the full P&L and performance trajectory for the West Region, with direct accountability for offer penetration, client retention, and new business development.
Shape Client & Business Strategy
• Meet directly with key clients and high-value prospects to deepen and secure the firm's most important relationships-bringing a hands-on, trust-based approach to business development at the highest tier.
• Partner with senior leaders across Business Development, Wealth Planning, AWM Support & Operations, and cross-site teams to drive coordinated strategies that serve the evolving needs of UHNW investors.
• Identify market trends, competitive shifts, and emerging client expectations-and translate those insights into actionable improvements to Vanguard's service model and value proposition.
Drive Enterprise Impact
• Serve as business lead or sponsor for key cross-functional initiatives-including teaming models, performance reporting, product strategy, and practice management enhancements.
• Influence and contribute to the development, implementation, and evolution of Vanguard's UHNW service model at the enterprise level.
• Go deep on process and methodology complexity to unlock technology, operational, and workflow improvements that enable the team to deliver at the highest level.
Who We're Looking For
This role demands a leader who has operated at the intersection of client management, team leadership, and strategic business growth within wealth management or private banking. The ideal profile:
• 10+ years of progressive experience in wealth management, private banking, or financial advisory services, with meaningful people leadership responsibility.
• A track record of leading and developing high-performing teams that serve ultra-high-net-worth or high-net-worth individual clients.
• Deep, client-facing fluency in investment offerings, planning methodologies, and the bespoke service expectations of complex, high-asset-value relationships.
• Proven ability to operate across a matrixed organization-building influence with senior stakeholders, specialist teams, and cross-functional partners.
• Required: FINRA Series licenses and/or state registrations as determined by compliance (e.g., Series 7, 66, SFC). CFP and/or CFA designation strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) preferred.
Special Factors
Sponsorship
Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.
