Job description


SAIC is seeking an Automation and Visualization software expert to support data recognition ingestion, management, automation, retrieval and depiction of space acquisition programmatic information in the Integration Directorate (SAF/SQX) of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, Space Acquisition and Integration at the Pentagon.
The SAF/SQX Directorate enables space acquisition program success and provides integrated support to the Space Service Acquisition Executive and SAF/SQ through three different branches. The Execution and Oversight branch serves as the focal point for all aspects of SAF/SQ's PPBE responsibilities, including proactive management for execution year funds and rigorous program oversight. The Acquisition Policies and Process Branch creates and publishes space acquisition-specific policy and guidance, acts as the Secretariat for Space Acquisition Council and Space SAE, and coordinates DAF position in broader policy work and mission directive management. The Special Programs branch leads Special Program management and governance through engagement with SAF/AQ, SAF/AA, DAF SAPCO, and DoD SAPCO.
Project details
The project involves building acquisition performance visualization tools to directly support the decision making of Acting ASAF(SA&I) and recent DoW Acquisition Transformation priorities.
Key elements of the project:
  • Creating automated data pipelines for data management and integration.
  • Testing systems and addressing user feedback for new/updated features.
  • Documenting and maintaining products in a production environment.
  • Identify, develop, recommend, and employ database recognition and integration software and tools for the purpose of providing a collated common information suite.
  • Develop and maintain common information suite including cost, schedule, performance data sourced from DAF space program development offices.
  • Produce standardized visualization formats by leveraging large language models and AI tools that will assist the SAF/SQ staff in understanding, assessing, advocating, and decision making.
  • Create automated data pipelines for data management and integration including acquisition documents for accessibility and tracking.
  • Test system, addressing user feedback for new/updated features, and develop manual for SAF/SQ staff (Civ, Mil, CTR) to access, use, extract database products.
  • Deliver the automation database effort on unclassified system with goal to adopt similar automation on classified system.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors and 2 years or more related experience; Masters and 0 years or more experience.
  • Must possess an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
  • Must have the following experience in security cooperation, DoD acquisitions, or program management:
  • Proficiency in understanding and manipulating databases, data ontology management, and data structures.
  • Work location is in Pentagon with some limited Telework scheduling.

Preferred skills:
  • It's a bonus if the candidate is a Supra Coder/has a Z-prefix identifier (govt only - not applicable for contractors).
  • Familiarity with Palantir's Foundry software is preferred, not required, as this role involves working within USSF's Warp Core and Envision platforms.
  • Familiarity with large language models and AI algorithms.
