Job description

Position Summary:   The Maintenance Engineer performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in order to uphold, and improve upon as directed, the Company’s Standards as well as to keep the Company in compliance with government and regulatory agencies’ standards for functionality, cleanliness, safety, and security.

1.      Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures as well as all the Company’s Practices (i.e. Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, Core Values, 15 Points of Service, etc.)

2.      Maintains the basic upkeep of all rooms and common areas by ensuring furniture, appliances, and electrical equipment are in working order.  Ensures paint and flooring meet Company standards.

3.      Maintains regular communication with and is responsive to appropriate team members in the Gaming area, Hotel Operation and Food and Beverage outlets so as to maintain awareness of any equipment or environmental issues that require attention and/or repair.  Collaborate with team members and take reasonable action to minimize interruptions to revenue-generating operations.

4.      Establish, maintain, and abide by the MSDS handling guidelines for all chemicals and materials.

5.      Maintains the Company’s exterior spaces such as the RV Park, parking lots, swimming pool, landscaping, etc.

6.      Completes minor repair issues as detected/advised.  Reports any major repair issues or requests to the Maintenance Manager or General Manager.

7.      Responsible for positively representing and promoting the property and Company.

8.      Offer guests assistance whenever possible.  Appropriately address guest requests to ensure guests are satisfied with the Company’s services and accommodations; communicate and collaborate with appropriate personnel to ensure guest issues are resolved and customers are satisfied.

Essential Functions:

1.                  Punch in on time and fully prepared to work.

2.                  Go to Front Desk and checks out keys. Go to shop, acquire radio in order to maintain contact with other staff. Answer calls for service as they come up.

3.                  Begin rounds (i.e. check with the Executive on Duty and Hotel Desk to see if any issues came up during the night, check with other departments for maintenance related issues).  Survey the building, the grounds (including the parking lots and RV Park), water softeners, and the trash dumpsters for areas that require action/repair/improvement.  Complete action items as discovered.

4.                  Check white boards for any tasks the previous shift couldn’t complete.

5.                  Begin working on current projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

6.                  At the conclusion or your work, clean your work area and secure your tools and equipment.

7.                  Make sure you have completed the log.

8.                  Maintain the Maintenance shop/work areas by properly stocking it with equipment as needed; cleaning it after you use it; and keeping it and the tools and items inside it secured.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.

2.      Ability to communicate effectively with guest(s), co-workers and management, in English, both in written and verbal form.

3.      Ability to make quick judgment decisions.

4.      Requires adherence to all company and department policies and procedures as well as all the Company’s Practices.

5.      Must be able to handle a flexible schedule.

6.      Ability to work with the desired level of detailed service and attentiveness.

10.  Excellent organizational skills.

11.  Must possess strong teamwork skills as well as to act independently in high-energy,

       diverse environment.

RELATED DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      Working closely with beverage team, slots, security, food, and gaming departments.

2.      Prior experience in this position is preferred but not required

3.      Speaking, visualizing and listening to team members and guests are an extremely important part of the Engineer’s service job description.

4.      Must be able to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle.  Must be able to qualify for insurance coverage by the Company’s vehicle insurance provider.

WORK CONDITIONS:  Indoors but may require extended periods of being outdoors as needed to attend to the exterior of the building and grounds. Work is typically in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and smoky.  Work may be performed in small areas with a 3-ft. access.  Tasks performed from a non-sitting position.  Team members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp.  These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area.  Work entails chemical usage.  Constant contact with staff and customer.  Shift assignments may be irregular, and will cover days, nights, weekends and holidays.
