Job description

Assistant General Manager / Head of Maintenance

Company Overview

Cottonwood Cove Marina & RV Resort is a premier riverfront destination on 82 scenic acres along the Missouri River in Blair, Nebraska. We offer seasonal and transient RV camping, a full-service marina, villa residences, resort amenities, and an on-site restaurant, all focused on delivering memorable guest experiences.

We are a growing hospitality organization that values teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Our culture is hands-on and guest-focused, and our team takes pride in maintaining a welcoming community atmosphere and well-kept facilities.

The Opportunity

This Assistant General Manager / Head of Maintenance role is a key leadership position that combines hospitality management, guest services, and property maintenance. You will work closely with the General Manager to run day-to-day operations while leading the maintenance function across the resort.

If you enjoy variety in your workday, like solving problems in real time, and want to see the direct impact of your efforts on guest satisfaction and property quality, this role offers a chance to grow your career in a beautiful riverfront setting with a rapidly expanding hospitality organization.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with the General Manager on daily resort operations, taking ownership of key areas such as guest services, facilities, and special projects.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for guests, handling inquiries, reservations, and issues professionally to ensure a consistently high level of satisfaction.
  • Lead and perform hands-on maintenance activities, including landscaping, groundskeeping, minor plumbing and electrical work, pool care, and general facility upkeep.
  • Coordinate larger maintenance projects and vendor relationships, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Support restaurant and resort teams through employee scheduling, staff coordination, and stepping in during peak periods to keep operations running smoothly.
What Success Looks Like
  • Within your first 6–12 months, the property is consistently well-maintained, with proactive maintenance plans in place and fewer unplanned outages or guest-impacting issues.
  • Guest feedback and reviews reflect responsive service, professional conflict resolution, and a friendly, welcoming environment throughout the resort.
  • Maintenance tasks, seasonal prep, and vendor projects are organized, scheduled, and completed efficiently, with clear communication to the General Manager and team.
  • Occupancy, guest retention, and event participation are positively influenced by your support of leasing outreach, programming, and on-site activities.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in hospitality, campgrounds, marinas, resorts, RV parks, restaurants, or property management, combined with a strong service mindset.
  • Hands-on maintenance skills in areas such as basic plumbing, electrical, landscaping, facilities, or pool operations, with a willingness to obtain and maintain CPO certification.
  • Proven ability to lead by example, supervise staff, coordinate schedules, and maintain calm, professional communication during busy or challenging periods.
  • Comfort with reservation or property management systems and basic office technology, plus the ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and live onsite or be on property most days during the busy season.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary: $40,000 - $60,000, based on experience and qualifications
  • Growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding hospitality organization
  • Full-time position
  • Increased hours during peak season (April through October), with a reduced workload and potential for partial remote work in the off-season
How to Apply

If you are a hands-on leader who enjoys both hospitality and maintenance operations and are excited by the idea of helping to shape the guest experience at a riverfront resort, please submit your resume and a brief note about your relevant experience.
