Senior Account Executive – Retail Packaging

  • Pay Range: $125,000 – $150,000 Base (Draw Structure) + Commission on Gross Profit (OTE $300K+)
  • Location: Houston, TX (Geographic Flexibility – California & East Coast Also Welcome)
  • Position Type: Direct Hire

How you'll spend your time as a Senior Account Executive:

  • Build and sustain a healthy pipeline through prospecting, client visits, and industry events
  • Identify new market opportunities and verticals beyond traditional retail and food service
  • Develop annual sales goals, budget, and strategy in conjunction with the President
  • Navigate customer specifications and requirements, developing solutions with internal staff and vendors
  • Provide accurate specifications, pricing, and quotations to clients
  • Close profitable orders based on company margin goals and sales strategy
  • Maintain and grow assigned accounts through re-order negotiations and new opportunity identification
  • Coordinate with art department, logistics, vendors, and management on order fulfillment
  • Maintain sales pipeline information in CRM (HubSpot, Smartsheet, ZoomInfo, or similar)
  • Participate in press checks, quality control standards, and dispute resolution as needed
  • Work with Accounting on escalated A/R and billing matters
  • Visit key accounts in person as required to nurture relationships
  • Assist in training new sales hires by sharing industry knowledge and best practices

Skills & experience we'd like you to have as a Senior Account Executive:

  • 10+ years of successful packaging sales experience with proven track record of opening and sustaining accounts
  • Hunter mentality – ability to generate business, not just maintain existing relationships
  • Experience succeeding in modern sales environment (not just in-person, not just email outreach)
  • Quick learning curve for product knowledge – printing, packaging, sourcing, and supply chain
  • Strong client and vendor relationships – able to collaborate, not operate as a lone wolf
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools (HubSpot, Smartsheet, ZoomInfo, or similar)
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills – comfortable with C-suite conversations
  • Strategic thinker – identifies new opportunities and proposes innovative solutions
  • Ability to travel as needed (flexible, not rigid requirement)
  • BA or BS degree preferred (not required if experience is strong)
