Position Summary
The Operations Manager serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for the overall strategic direction, performance, and continuous improvement of all operational functions across the organization. Reporting directly to the President, this role provides leadership for manufacturing, warehouse operations, supply chain, logistics, quality, maintenance, customer fulfillment, and operational analytics.
The Operations Manager will drive operational excellence, profitability, customer satisfaction, and organizational growth through strong leadership, data-driven decision making, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This executive will work closely with the President to develop and execute strategies that support long-term business objectives while ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Executive & Strategic Leadership
• Partner with the President to develop and execute the company's strategic vision, growth initiatives, and operational objectives.
• Provide leadership and oversight for all manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, procurement, quality, maintenance, and customer fulfillment operations.
• Develop operational strategies that support revenue growth, profitability, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
• Establish annual goals and performance objectives aligned with company priorities.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment across all departments.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the President on operational performance, organizational development, and growth opportunities.
Manufacturing & Operational Excellence
• Direct all aspects of injection molding manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, delivery, and financial objectives.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput, productivity, and efficiency.
• Ensure effective production planning, scheduling, labor utilization, and resource management.
• Drive process standardization, waste reduction, and cost optimization across all operational functions.
• Oversee capital improvement projects and equipment investments that support growth and operational excellence.
Supply Chain, Warehouse & Logistics
• Provide executive leadership for warehouse operations, inventory management, procurement, shipping, receiving, and distribution.
• Ensure efficient material flow from suppliers through production and customer delivery.
• Develop strategies to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, and inventory turns.
• Strengthen supplier relationships and evaluate vendor performance to ensure reliability and cost effectiveness.
• Oversee transportation and logistics strategies to improve delivery performance and reduce costs.
• Ensure operational readiness to support customer demand and business growth.
Analytics & Performance Management
• Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) across all operational functions.
• Develop executive dashboards and reporting systems providing visibility into operational, financial, customer, and workforce performance.
• Analyze data and trends to drive strategic decision making and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilize forecasting tools and analytics to improve demand planning, capacity planning, labor planning, and resource allocation.
• Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective action plans to address operational challenges.
• Foster a culture of accountability and data-driven decision making throughout the organization.
Customer Experience & Relationship Management
• Partner with Sales and Customer Service leadership to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention.
• Act as an executive liaison for strategic customer accounts and key business relationships.
• Drive initiatives focused on on-time delivery, responsiveness, product quality, and service excellence.
• Monitor customer performance metrics and implement improvement plans as needed.
• Participate in customer visits, business reviews, audits, and strategic planning discussions.
• Support business growth by aligning operational capabilities with customer needs and market opportunities.
Financial & Business Management
• Maintain responsibility for operational budgets, forecasting, and capital expenditures.
• Analyze operational and financial results to identify opportunities for increased profitability.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality, safety, or customer satisfaction.
• Improve margins through enhanced productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Ensure effective management of company assets and investments.
• Contribute to annual business planning and long-range strategic planning initiatives.
Leadership & Organizational Development
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team.
• Establish a culture of accountability, engagement, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead succession planning and talent development initiatives throughout the organization.
• Develop organizational capabilities that support growth and long-term business objectives.
• Promote collaboration, communication, and transparency across departments.
• Champion employee development, recognition, and retention efforts.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, regulatory, customer, and industry standards.
• Champion a culture focused on workplace safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee quality management systems and customer compliance requirements.
• Lead risk management, contingency planning, and business continuity initiatives.
• Ensure operational adherence to established policies, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing operations.
• 5+ years in a senior operational leadership role with multi-functional responsibility.
• Experience within injection molding, plastics manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Proven success leading operational transformation, process improvement, and growth initiatives.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
Preferred
• MBA or advanced business degree.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.
• Experience with ERP implementation and operational technology systems.
• Multi-site manufacturing and distribution leadership experience.

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
