About the Role

Diversified Construction & Design is a full-service contractor providing integrated construction solutions across the industrial, commercial, and residential markets. Diversified Construction & Design is seeking an Architectural/Civil Executive Project Manager (EPM) to join our Executive Team. EPMs have 10+ years of progressive experience in architectural construction operations, project management, account management, or executive leadership, with significant experience delivering commercial and/or residential building projects. They are executive-level relationship managers and business leaders responsible for the growth, profitability, retention, and overall performance of assigned client portfolios.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with architects, engineers, owners, developers, general contractors, governmental officials and other decision-makers to identify, pursue, and secure architectural and civil construction opportunities.
  • Review and evaluate prospective architectural and civil projects, including scope, drawings and specifications, design maturity, constructability, subcontractor strategy, labor and equipment requirements, permitting, schedule demands, site conditions, procurement considerations, commercial terms, risk exposure, and operational capacity, determining the Company's ability and willingness to pursue and successfully execute the work.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with governmental officials, municipal leaders, public-agency representatives, engineers, and other key decision-makers to strengthen DCD's presence in the public-sector market, identify upcoming civil and infrastructure opportunities, and position the Company for future work.

Client Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Provide strategic oversight and administration of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and project-specific contracts, ensuring contractual commitments align with business objectives, operational capabilities, risk management standards, regulatory requirements, and long-term client relationships.

Commercial Management

  • Monitor and drive the financial performance of assigned architectural and civil client portfolios, ensuring achievement of revenue, margin, cash flow, growth, and client retention objectives.
  • Negotiate, establish, and manage client-specific commercial terms, including fee structures, markups, labor and equipment rates, and other pricing arrangements, ensuring contractual compliance, competitive market positioning, and achievement of Company profitability objectives.

Risk Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial, contractual, design/constructability, operational, financial, schedule, subcontractor, procurement, site-condition, permitting, and client-related risks within assigned architectural and civil portfolios, implementing mitigation strategies to protect Diversified's interests and support successful project outcomes.

Strategic Leadership and Planning / Executive Oversight

  • Participate as a member of Diversified's Executive Team, contributing to strategic planning, organizational leadership, and executive decision-making while providing market and client insight that supports the Company's architectural growth strategy, complementary civil capabilities, and long-term business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in architectural construction operations, project management, account management, or executive leadership, with significant experience delivering commercial and/or residential building projects.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing client relationships, developing repeat business, and supporting business development within construction markets.
  • Demonstrated experience managing architectural project scope, estimating and Preconstruction, design/constructability coordination, subcontractors, schedule, risk, and change; experience with civil/site development work is preferred.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with owners, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, operations personnel, and executive leadership.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, business-development, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to balance client expectations, design and constructability considerations, operational priorities, contractual obligations, schedule requirements, and financial objectives.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
