Job description

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for an Acquisition Analyst in support of the Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for Maritime (PEO-M).ย 

PEO-M leads a diverse maritime portfolio that develops, fields, and sustains SOF-unique surface and undersea mobility and mission solutionsโ€”spanning crewed and uncrewed platforms, combat diving systems, and mission equipment. Through close collaboration with Naval Special Warfare operators and strong government/industry partnerships, PEO-M drives modernization, integration, testing, and lifecycle replacement to ensure maritime forces retain lethality and survivability advantages in denied and contested environments. The organization also transitions emerging technologies into operational use, advancing navigation, communications, situational awareness, and training capabilities across the SOF maritime enterprise.

This is a full-time opportunity located at MacDill, AFB, FL.


  • Manage risk/opportunity identification, mitigation/capture planning, and overall risk and opportunity management process for PEO-M Undersea programs.
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to identify risks and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Develop programmatic risk and opportunity management plans throughout a program's lifecycle.
  • Provide assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of programmatic risks and opportunities (technical, cost, and schedule).
  • Conduct Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threat (SWOT) analysis.
  • Provide inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution.
  • Analyze trends in performance indicators to assist Government counterparts with managing Agency-level performance indicators, recommending corrective action, establishing lessons learned, and influencing the improvement of processes.
  • Work with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for proposed projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend programs and development plans, utilizing a professional knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
  • Support technical evaluation elements of market surveys conducted in conjunction with assigned projects and programs.
  • Support Government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and Agency reporting requirements.

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship:ย Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility clearance

Certifications: DAWIA Advanced Equivalency IAW the PWS (DAWIA level III equivalent), and in the Engineering, Program Management, or Science and Technology (S&T) fields, or ability to attain within 6 months of hire with approved customer deferral

Education: Bachelor's degree in acquisition, business, or related field

Years of Experience: 10 years working in DoD acquisition programs, including:

  • Knowledge of program planning, scheduling, budget planning/formulation, and cost analysis
  • Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.02, โ€œOperation of the Defense Acquisition System.โ€
  • Working knowledge of project management/scheduling software applications, such as MS Project and other automation tools

Preferred Experience:

Experience:ย 

  • Risk management background valued; experience with Risk Exchange or other risk management tools is desired
  • Knowledge of SOF-unique acquisition processes is valued
  • Experience staffing SAMPs, APBs, and 70-1 documents for projects, combat evaluations, and studies is highly desired
  • Experience in staffing FM worksheets for AF9 and DD448 funding, spend plan build development, market surveys, and technical evaluations is highly valued
