Chief Medical Officer

Responsibilities Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. It is the ultimate goal of our dedicated staff to build strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient, in hopes that they may continue learning and understanding their needs and practicing self-care for the rest of their lives.

Qualifications

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for the medical oversight in overall operational, financial and business effectiveness of the Hospital. The CMO will formulate strategy, implement strategic plans, develop and ensure attainment of operating goals and objectives consistent with the strategic objectives and policies established by the Hospital. Specialized Skills and Knowledge Ability to set a strategic vision with measurable outcomes that promote medical department development and success. Ability to organize and facilitate meetings and outcomes. Ability to build a collaborative and supportive culture for medical staff. Willingly accepts direction in achievement of organization's objectives. Strong management and proven leadership skills. Strong business acumen relating to Psychiatric operations, finance and decision-making. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, and at all levels of management at the Hospital

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

Serve as a key member of the Hospital Leadership Team, establish and maintain a close working relationship with the CEO, and other hospital leadership, including the COO, CNO CFO and Department Directors. Responsible to be available as needed and participate in regular Leadership meetings; Flash meetings, Medical Staff Meetings, Medical Executive Committee and other committees as assigned. Coordinating, supervising and evaluating the provision of medical services within the Hospital. Assist in operating the Department in compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and directives applicable to the Department, (ii) the standards and recommendations of The Joint Commission, (iii) applicable standards of relevant professional societies, (iv) applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations, (v) the mission and values of Havenwyck Hospital. Assisting in administering and operating the Department in an efficient and effective manner to meet Hospital key performance indicators. Providing recommendations regarding development, management and budgeting for the Department Responsible for coordinating the medical services scheduling to ensure continuous medical services coverage for the Department Responsible for ensuring medical services documentation and coding accurately reflect the care provided. Provide consultation in developing the Department's policies, clinical protocols, forms, reports and records. Participating in the development and implementation of effective quality assurance and utilization review programs Act as an administrative liaison between on behalf of the Hospital, as well as within the community and with regional physicians for Department services Provide clinical administrative consultations as necessary to effectively expedite high quality patient care and provide appropriate clinical consultations as requested. Participate in training and recruitment efforts with residents and approved medical staff positions. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
