The Senior Physical Security Specialist serves as a trusted resource within the organization, responsible for assessing, mitigating, and responding to physical security risks across corporate office environments. This position provides specialized expertise in security investigations, incident review, and protective services while supporting the organization's broader physical security strategy. The role contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of physical security standards, policies, procedures, and post orders. The position partners with internal stakeholders to evaluate security concerns, conduct sensitive inquiries, and provide risk-informed recommendations that support the safety of personnel, protection of assets, and continuity of business operations. Additionally, the position may support executive protection activities as required, including risk assessments, advance planning, and coordination of protective measures aligned with organizational protocols, ensuring a discreet, professional, and service-oriented presence.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • This role does not manage people

  • This role reports to: Divisional Leadership

  • Necessary Contacts: Must work with all levels of staff both internally and externally including local, state, and federal law enforcement as required.

  • Works with a high degree of independence and discretion, handling sensitive matters that may involve senior leaders, confidential information, and elevated risk scenarios.

  • May be required to respond outside normal business hours, including urgent incidents, emerging threats, and executive protection needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, emergency management, or a related field preferred.

  • Four years of related experience in physical security, law enforcement, or military can be used in lieu of a degree.

Work Experience

  • 5 years of physical security, law enforcement or military experience with progressive responsibility in protective operations, investigations, or security operations.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting sensitive investigations, interviews, and incident response in environments requiring confidentiality and professionalism.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize workload, and make sound decisions under pressure in a corporate setting.

  • Knowledge of project and program management practices such as efficiently planning and prioritizing activities, multi-tasking, and proficiency in assisting with multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent organizational, verbal and communication skills are required.

  • Must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills while performing research capabilities in a competent and professional manner with minimal direction.

  • Ability to work with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team and work proficiently in a fast-paced demanding environment.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and or Program Management Software (e.g. MS Project).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Ability to maintain POST or other equivalent firearms certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with physical security operations, standards, program documentation, post order development, executive protection including advances, protective intelligence, and close protection support, and working knowledge of access control systems and video surveillance systems preferred

  • Working knowledge and competent use of SharePoint is preferred.

  • CPP, PSP, or APP certification preferred.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts sensitive inquiries and reviews of security-related incidents, utilizing structured interview techniques and fact-based analysis to develop clear, well-documented findings and recommendations.

  • Provides consultative support to business areas and leadership by assessing security concerns, evaluating risks, and offering practical, risk-informed guidance aligned with organizational standards.

  • Supports executive protection activities as required, including participating in risk assessments, advance planning, coordination of protective measures, and discreet on-site presence during executive engagements or events.

  • Assists in the development, refinement, and application of physical security policies, procedures, guidelines, and post orders to promote consistency, clarity, and operational effectiveness across locations.

  • Conducts site reviews, security assessments, and vulnerability analyses within corporate environments to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners, including Human Resources, Legal, Facilities, and law enforcement agencies, to support incident response, investigative activities, and ongoing security initiatives.

  • Develops and maintains a working understanding of physical security technologies, including access control and video surveillance systems, to support investigations, reviews, and operational needs.

  • Prepares clear, concise, and defensible documentation, including reports, summaries, and recommendations that may be used for internal review, audit, or legal purposes.

  • Participates in response activities related to security incidents, emerging risks, or business disruptions, providing support in a manner consistent with established protocols and expectations.

  • Contributes to ongoing program improvement efforts by identifying trends, recommending enhancements, and supporting initiatives that strengthen the overall physical security program.
