Residential Security Agent

The Residential Security Team Agent supports a protective security detail based in Miami, FL. This position operates within a highly team-oriented environment that values strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Candidates must be comfortable working both as part of a team and independently, providing solo coverage in slower to moderately paced environments. The role requires a quick learner who can adapt and perform effectively while maintaining high security standards. Flexibility is essential, as schedules and routines may shift with little notice. The ideal candidate brings prior experience as a Residential Security Agent, along with training or education in areas such as defensive driving, emergency medical response, or executive protection, and is seeking a long-term role within the team.

Duties
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of designated principals and their properties.
  • Maintain a knowledge of baseline principal, property and neighborhood activities.
  • Monitor property and area activities and conditions via closed-circuit television camera system and physical perimeter checks.
  • Monitor traditional and social media for potential threats.
  • Control access to properties and maintain security logs for guests, service personnel, and vendors.
  • Drive or tail principals, family members, guests.
  • Conduct advance work as needed.
  • Screen and track mail and deliveries.
  • Monitor weather and natural disasters, traffic, public safety incidents and trends, neighborhood watch programs, local and national current events.
  • Coordinate with site staff to accomplish common tasks.
  • Complete daily household tasks and maintenance as requested by principals.
  • Ensure 24/7 operational readiness through stocking supplies and equipment upkeep.
  • Operate within parameters established by standard operating procedures and applicable laws.
  • Coordinate with and support the executive protection element of the team.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in use and proper maintenance for all equipment (vehicles, medical supplies, communications devices, etc.).
  • Drive and undertake special off‑site assignments/details.
  • Potential local travel approximately 5%-10% of the time to other RST sites or principal destinations.
  • Must be flexible and open to working overtime shifts, whether night or day, including early start and late finish as needed.
  • Must possess the ability to multitask in a very fast‑paced environment.
  • Must be able to stay vigilant sitting in a vehicle or security office for extended periods of time.
  • Must be a proactive problem solver capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess a good understanding of the latest technology in security camera systems, use of smartphones, communications, and collaboration apps.
  • Must be proficient in G‑Suite applications.
  • Must be dog friendly.
  • Must keep a professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Must be responsive via phone call, text, and email as needed to support the team.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to be personable, and successfully interact with clients, superiors, peers, vendors, and neighbors.
Qualifications, Certificates and Licenses
  • 2-4 years of combined experience in relevant security, military and/or law enforcement positions.
  • Physically fit to facilitate emergency responses.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
  • American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED for Adult, Child & Infant certification.
  • Florida Class D & G Licenses.
  • Florida CCW permit.
  • Passport.
  • All certifications must be current.
  • Employees are responsible for keeping all certifications/licenses active.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
  • Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
  • Prolonged periods sitting up to 5 hours at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment.
  • Prolonged periods standing on your feet without a break (4-5 hours).
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to lift, drag a human up to 200 lbs or more, if necessary.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, crawl.
  • Being able to respond to physical attacks, natural disasters, evacuations.

  • Training in defensive tactics, counter surveillance/surveillance detection, covert protection and basic medical support experience.
  • Prior training course(s) in residential security or executive protection.
  • Prior attendance of a recognized EP school (ESI, EPI, Oatman, PFC, ITG4, TFTT).
  • Advanced emergency medical certification (Active First Responder, EMT or paramedic).
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Regularly active in outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, ocean sports, etc.
Detail Structure

Full‑time position on a 24/7 detail working the following: average of 15 12‑hour rotating shifts per month, rotating day and night shifts, rotating 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, weekends, holidays, overtime/additional shifts as needed; domestic/local travel (if desired by the principal(s)); quarterly sustainment training - firearms, defensive tactics, medical, driving.
