Job description

Summary:

This position provides administrative support with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.

Essential Functions:

  • Initiate background checks and drug screenings for prospective employees, draft offer letters and send out new hire paperwork.
  • Set up new hire files making sure that all required paperwork is included.
  • Be point person for all new hires to guide them through the onboarding process – employee engagement
  • Enter, update, and maintain employee data in all internal HR systems (Dayforce, PlanSource, Ascensus, etc.)
  • Terminate employees in all internal HR systems (Dayforce, PlanSource, Ascensus, etc.) when someone leaves the company.
  • Send exit interviews when applicable.
  • Maintain employee training platform (DashTrain) and ensure that employees are current with all required training.
  • Annual performance reviewing and processing
  • Complete and submit verification of employment requests.
  • Manage HR postings on Raveis 365 (new hires, insurance documents, etc.)
  • Compile and accurately prepare reports/spreadsheets.Sending out Employee Notices and Labor Law posters for the beginning of each year
  • Answer main HR phone line and transfer calls to appropriate person.Answer employee questions that arise or refer to person who can assist.
  • Maintain internal intranet site with current information.
  • Being able to review benefits SPD for benefits open enrollment/benefits packet
  • Updating new hire packets
  • Creating monthly newsletter each month using MailJet
  • Several audits throughout each platform (benefits, HAS/FSA, 401k beneficiary, and 1-9 forms)
  • Qualified to use Dayforce platform environment and integration process
  • Being the liaison for Agent Benefits: knowing how to communicate with outside vendors, agents, and giving the best customer service experience for agent benefit elections
  • Being able to public speak and host webinars for the benefit information

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with event management of many company functions
  • Special projects as assigned

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage and complete tasks with competing priorities
  • Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to protect confidential information

Physical Demands:

This position requires individuals to sit mostly at a desk. There is constant handling, grasping, feeling, hearing, and use of a mouse as a repetitive motion. On occasion, the position requires standing, reaching, bending, squatting and walking. Maximum requirement to lift is no more than 20 lbs.

Hours of Work:

NOT a remote position. This position is full-time in the office at our Shelton, CT HQ. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm with regular and predictable attendance.
