What is an executive property manager?

Executive Property Managers are senior professionals responsible for overseeing the management and operations of real estate properties, typically across multiple sites or a large portfolio. They supervise property management teams, ensure properties are well-maintained, handle budgeting and financial reporting, and work to maximize property value and tenant satisfaction. Their role often involves strategic planning, legal compliance, and liaison with property owners, tenants, and service providers. Executive Property Managers play a crucial role in achieving the financial and operational goals of real estate assets.

How does an executive property manager typically interact with property owners and tenants, and what communication challenges can arise?

An Executive Property Manager serves as the primary liaison between property owners and tenants, ensuring that both parties’ needs are addressed while maintaining the property’s profitability and compliance. Regular communication is required for updates on property performance, lease negotiations, and resolving maintenance or tenant issues. Challenges often arise from balancing owner expectations with tenant satisfaction, managing multiple properties, and handling urgent concerns promptly. Professionalism, clear communication, and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this collaborative role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive property manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Property Manager, you need expertise in property operations, financial management, leasing, and a relevant degree or certification such as CPM (Certified Property Manager). Familiarity with property management software like Yardi or AppFolio, and knowledge of building systems and compliance regulations, are commonly required. Leadership, negotiation, and strong interpersonal communication skills help build relationships with tenants, vendors, and staff. These skills ensure efficient property performance, tenant satisfaction, and profitability across diverse real estate portfolios.

Job description

About Miami Vacation Rentals:

MVR is a Miami-based property management company operating 300+ short-term rental units across major OTAs (Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Expedia). We manage the full guest lifecycle using Guesty as our core PMS, and we invest in AI-powered tools to raise the bar on both guest experience and team efficiency.

We are a team of 40+ people who value trust, service, excellence, teamwork, care for our people, and resourcefulness. Not as slogans, but in practice. Owner acquisition is one of our top strategic priorities for the next 12 months, and this role sits at the center of that growth. We're looking for someone who earns trust the same way we do: through clarity, transparency, and follow-through.

How We Work:

  • AI-first: We use Claude and AI tools across the team; everyone trains on AI weekly

  • EOS framework: Quarterly Rocks, weekly L10 meetings, clear accountability at every level

  • Structured but fast: Notion is our system of record; processes are defined, execution is rapid

  • Remote-first for Colombia team: async by default, with core hours overlapping US Eastern Time

Position Summary:

As the Account Executive – Property Management, you’ll be the driving force behind our market expansion and portfolio growth. This role is ideal for someone who is confident, entrepreneurial, and energized by creating new opportunities. You’ll take the lead in building strategic relationships with property owners, real estate partners, developers, and investors with a focus on signing new properties for our portfolio.

In your first 90 days, you’ll focus on building a strong, qualified pipeline, elevating brand presence through proactive outreach. Over the next two years, success looks like consistent portfolio growth, strong referral partnerships, and positioning Miami Vacation Rentals as a top management choice in the Miami market.

What You'll Do:
  • Own and convert warm leads — inbound inquiries, referrals, and partner-sourced contacts — into signed property management agreements

  • Qualify each opportunity early by assessing property type, HOA or condo restrictions, owner expectations, and timeline before investing significant time

  • Build and present simple, clear STR pro forma P&Ls (revenue, occupancy, ADR assumptions) that help owners understand the real value of partnering with MVR

  • Run a disciplined, non-pushy follow-up cadence with owners who aren't ready to sign today, playing a long game where every conversation keeps the door open

  • Manage the full sales cycle remotely by phone and video, with occasional in-person meetings in Miami, and hand off cleanly to our onboarding team at signing

  • Keep your CRM pipeline accurate and current with daily activity logging, clean documentation, and reliable weekly reporting

  • In your first 90 days, work through our existing CRM backlog of stalled leads while running a higher volume of self-sourced outreach as our broader lead-generation and channels ramp up

  • Report directly to the CEO during ramp-up, transitioning to our Miami-based Owner Acquisition Manager once that hire is in place

Qualifications:
  • Required:

    • 4 to 6+ years of experience in a senior, client-facing role in private banking, wealth management, real estate or investment sales, corporate account management, or luxury hospitality

    • A demonstrated track record engaging high-net-worth individuals, business owners, or executive-level clients

    • Working financial fluency: comfortable building and explaining a basic pro forma P&L without hand-holding

    • Native or fluent Spanish and strong professional English, spoken and written

    Strongly preferred:

    • Experience managing a full, high-stakes sales cycle over phone and video without relying on in-person meetings

    • CRM proficiency in HubSpot or a comparable platform, with strong self-discipline for remote pipeline management

    • Familiarity with the short-term rental or real estate investment space

    • A consultative, low-pressure style: you build credibility through transparency, not urgency tactics

    • US Visa or Permit to enter the US for occasional traveling under company expenses.

(If you are strong on most requirements but light on one item, apply anyway. We would rather see the full picture.)

Compensation Structure
  • Annual On-target earnings (OTE): $100,000 - $140,000 (base + commission), uncapped once fully ramped.

  • We expect 30–45 days to be full productivity given the experience level we're hiring for.

  • Payment method: Paid in USD via Ontop, monthly

What We Provide:
  • Full remote setup support and access to MVR's core tech stack (Guesty, HubSpot, Notion, AI tools)

  • Structured onboarding with direct CEO access during ramp-up

  • A warm lead pipeline from day one, including an existing CRM backlog to work immediately

  • Weekly AI training sessions available to the full team

  • A clear path to senior ownership of the function as the team scales

90-Day and 1-Year Outcomes

90 days:

  • Full CRM backlog worked and documented

  • At least 15 owner presentations delivered

  • First 10 units signed

1 year:

  • 70 to 90+ units signed across the year

  • Healthy, well-maintained nurture pipeline with documented follow-up cadence

  • Recognized by owners and internal team as a trusted, straightforward point of contact

  • Transitioned successfully under Miami-based Owner Acquisition Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Location: Hybrid Miami, FL-based
