Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager
Position Summary:
The Senior Cybersecurity (CS) Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management for high complexity, high enterprise impact, and high visibility project(s) over the entire life of the initiative. The Senior CS Project Manager understands complicated business objectives and scope and assembles a team to deliver superior results for their project(s). The Senior CS Project Manager works closely with accountable delivery Leaders in the CS, IT and other business unit organizations to ensure assigned project(s) deliver on business objectives and value, while managing scope/timeline/budget and technical risk. The Senior CS Project Manager is responsible for multiple complex projects at one time. This position requires strong knowledge of Cybersecurity technology processes and implementation procedures and proven leadership skills to provide the necessary structure around key strategic initiatives and high impact transformative enterprise-wide projects.
Job Duties/Responsibilities (in addition to Project Manager job duties):
  • Manage high impact, complex, and enterprise-level strategic projects through the project life cycle. Engage stakeholders including management and senior leadership across multiple business units to drive buy-in and delivery of transformative projects.
  • Ensure excellent outcomes by utilizing project management processes, methodologies, and techniques, and contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing. Drive process excellence in project management methodologies to promote execution effectiveness.
  • Support business functional leaders in the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of business-critical projects.
  • Apply appropriate level of process rigor to facilitate change control decisions which impact project scope and deliverables and drive alignment of key stakeholders.
  • Use critical / systems thinking skills to challenge project assumptions to achieve higher quality outcomes.
  • Manage complex procurement in the acquisition of related software, products and services.
  • Manage the integration of vendor tasks; track and review vendor deliverables (as applicable).
  • Ensure operational excellence by influencing requirements and technical design to achieve business outcomes and align with architecture, compliance, and security standards.
  • Influence the deployment, communication, and change management strategy of assigned projects to ensure implementations minimize or eliminate business disruption, are implemented with a robust design which meets the underlying business need and are communicated to impacted stakeholders to maximize buy-in and solution acceptance.
  • Engage the solution owner to identify and address implications associated with the implementation of strategic projects and create mitigation strategies which support full realization of project benefits.
  • Manage risks in strategic projects to identify critical risks early and develop effective mitigations.
  • Develop effective countermeasures in tandem with the solution owner in response to misses in cost, timing, and/or quality in maintaining overall project objectives.
  • Reconcile complex project financials including actuals, accruals, labor, invoices, and contracts. Recommend adjustments to improve forecasts.
  • Provide regular and target audience communications to leadership, external stakeholders, project teams, and steering committees to inform business decisioning.
  • Forecast initiatives to project strategic plan goals and assess current performance.
  • Review project deliverables for quality, accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.

Minimum Education needed:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business, Operations, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • PMP or similar certification a plus.
  • Other certifications such as security and IT are a plus.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
  • 8+ plus years of project management
  • Experience with phase/stage gate PMO processes.
  • Must have experience with Project Scheduling Software (Microsoft Project, P6, etc.) to create and manage complex schedules with a Work Breakdown Structure. Able to break down complex activities into a sequence of work activities and establish task dependencies.
  • Experienced with communications and engagement at multiple levels: technical individual contributors, contractors, vendors, management, and executive management.
  • Familiarity with current Cybersecurity tools and strategies to protect against threats, vulnerabilities and resiliency of an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-functional teams through program lifecycle (phase gate) while managing risk and project finances.
  • Self-starter with the ability and willingness to problem solve, prioritize, negotiate, and manage changing deadlines. Critical thinking a must.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, ability to motivate others through influence and challenge assumptions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and project management reporting software required.
  • Strong business acumen & collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability to liaison with internal, cross-functional, and external teams.

  • Knowledge of key cybersecurity standards (such as NIST-CSF) and an understanding of executing projects in a regulated environment (i.e. SOX, NERC CIP, FERC, NRC, etc.).
  • Must be proficient in office tools such as Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must be proficient with meeting scheduling, meeting facilitation, and collaboration tools including on-line meetings, instant messaging, and video conferencing.
  • Ability to manage multiple cross functional project resources to ensure successful implementation of projects.
  • Experienced with procurement processes including contract and vendor management.
  • Available to travel as needed, be available, and able to work irregular hours for project go-lives and deadlines.
  • Must be able to report to the Entergy office as required during normal working hours for collaboration meetings and on-site events and must satisfy residency requirements per Entergy's Work Location Flexibility policy.
  • Must be able to work from home in a low-noise, relatively distraction-free home office environment with high network bandwidth and to be available during normal business hours except for excused absences.
