Account Executive (Producer) 

Location: The Woodlands, Houston, Texas

Work model: Full-time remote

Role summary 

Tropolis is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Account Executive (Producer) to generate new business, develop client relationships, and grow a profitable book of business across commercial and personal lines. This role is designed for a sales professional who is highly motivated by production, relationship building, and long-term ownership of client outcomes. 

The Account Executive, Producer will be responsible for sourcing and closing new business opportunities, partnering with internal service teams to deliver a strong client experience, and driving retention and cross-sell opportunities over time.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Generate new business through prospecting, referrals, centers of influence, networking, and targeted sales activity 
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities across commercial and personal lines 
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with clients and prospects by understanding risk exposures and recommending appropriate insurance solutions 
  • Partner with account management and service teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process and high-quality ongoing client service 
  • Drive profitable growth with a focus on desirable client segments and strong underwriting discipline 
  • Maintain an active presence in the marketplace and represent Tropolis professionally in the community 
  • Support renewal strategy, client retention, and cross sell opportunities within the book 
  • Maintain compliance with all licensing, carrier, and regulatory requirements 
  • Stay current on carrier appetite, underwriting requirements, and industry changes impacting commercial property and casualty clients

Required qualifications 

  • Proven success in insurance sales, business development, or producer roles 
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lines, personal lines, or both 
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, build relationships, and close new business 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong accountability for results 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills 
  • Active insurance license required, or ability to obtain promptly if applicable

Purpose Plan

Compensation 

Compensation range: $75,000 base salary + uncapped commission 
Realistic total comp of $150,000 - $200,000+ at full ramp

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of any pre-employment testing required for the role and a satisfactory background check. This may include verification of licensing and credentials, employment history, and other checks consistent with applicable laws and business needs.
