Job description

Job Description Position Summary: The Senior Graphic Designer plays a crucial role within our integrated marketing department's Creative Services team, focusing on digital and print design projects to enhance Stetson University's visibility. This role demands strong conceptual skills and a solid design foundation to ensure timely, compelling, and brand-aligned creative that supports our marketing objectives. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Develop and execute concepts for marketing, fundraising and advertising initiatives.

Translate creative ideas into cohesive print and digital media solutions, maintaining consistency across platforms. Provide project leadership under the guidance of the Art Director, collaborating across departments as a design expert in digital, print, and social media. Lead and manage creative projects from inception to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and effective presentation of conceptual ideas to stakeholders.

Champion the institutional brand through consistent application of identity standards across all media channels. Stay current with design trends and standards, integrating them into digital and print graphic design. Collaborate effectively within the creative department, communications, and web teams.

Contribute positively to group creative discussions and work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong communication skills with a deep understanding of advertising principles, design best practices, typography, media trends, and print production. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Mac platform, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Adobe Premiere and/or Final Cut are a plus. Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining focus on strategic and timeline objectives. Proficiency in both raster and vector-based graphics, including photo editing and illustration.

The strongest candidates for the Senior Graphic Designer position will also have solid multimedia skills. While this is primarily a graphic design position, duties will also include occasionally supporting the staff photographer/videographer to cover university events and other photo/video requests as needed. Candidates with this skillset must be able to produce high quality photos and videos, and have solid photo/video editing skills.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field. Minimum five (5) years of graphic design and/or art direction experience in an agency or in-house marketing setting. Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and technical skills across various media platforms.

Work Environment: This is an on-site position at our DeLand campus. Our Marketing division operates in an open-air indoor environment with 20-30 employees. Noise levels vary but are generally moderate.

Pay Grade: 7 Work authorization sponsorship may be available for this position. However, sponsorship is contingent upon the non-applicability of the visa petition fees outlined in the relevant Executive Order signed September 19, 2025. Due to the recent federally-mandated increased financial expense, the university is not in a position to absorb this significantly increased cost of sponsorship for new H-1B petitions at this time.

International candidates are encouraged to apply, but should be aware that eligibility for sponsorship will be evaluated in accordance with current U.S. immigration regulations and institutional policies.
