Administrator of Pharmacy Services, PharmD

We are seeking a dedicated Administrator of Pharmacy Services to lead and oversee all pharmacy operations within a healthcare facility located in the Midwest region of the United States. This pivotal leadership role blends clinical expertise with administrative oversight to ensure safe, effective, and compliant medication management across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise procurement, storage, dispensing, and monitoring of medications to maintain high standards of safety and accuracy.
  • Manage cost-effective operations in collaboration with administrative and ancillary teams.
  • Provide leadership aligned with organizational goals, including performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to build a competent and motivated team.
  • Oversee pharmacy budgeting, cost control, and vendor contract negotiations.
  • Maintain drug inventory levels to meet customer needs while minimizing outdated stock.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures consistent with pharmacy service scope and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and accreditation standards, representing the facility during audits and inspections.
  • Perform staff pharmacist duties as needed and uphold infection prevention protocols.
  • Deliver educational presentations on drug-related topics to healthcare professionals and the community.
  • Facilitate communication between department staff and executive leadership through regular meetings.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the appropriate state board.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of pharmacist experience, with prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Certified Immunizer credential is required.
Requirements
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per American Heart Association standards.
  • Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.
