About the Role

The Analytical Sciences team at Haleon plays a critical role in supporting the development of innovative OTC medicines, wellness products, cosmetic products, and medical devices. Partnering across R&D, Formulation Development, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing, the team develops and implements robust analytical methods that enable product innovation and support successful commercialization.

The Senior Analytical Scientist is part of Haleon's Global OTC Respiratory Analytical Sciences organization and is responsible for leading analytical method development, validation, troubleshooting, and scientific problem-solving activities. This role combines deep technical expertise in liquid chromatography and separation sciences with cross-functional collaboration, project leadership, and mentoring of junior scientists. The position offers an opportunity to directly support innovation and deliver consumer health products that impact millions of people worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, validate, transfer, and troubleshoot analytical methods supporting OTC medicines, wellness products, cosmetic products, and medical devices.
  • Serve as a technical expert in analytical chemistry, utilizing advanced knowledge of liquid chromatography and separation sciences to solve complex analytical challenges.
  • Lead analytical method development and validation activities to support new product development, product lifecycle management, and commercialization efforts.
  • Investigate chromatographic separation challenges, instrumentation issues, atypical results, and other technical problems using sound scientific principles.
  • Design experiments and generate scientific data to support product development, stability testing, and regulatory submissions.
  • Provide scientific leadership and mentorship to junior scientists while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Collaborate closely with Formulation Development, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and external partners to deliver project objectives.
  • Manage analytical activities across multiple projects, ensuring timelines, risks, and deliverables are effectively managed.
  • Lead root cause investigations for atypical data and implement scientifically justified solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and communicate technical reports, presentations, validation protocols, and scientific documentation in accordance with GMP and quality requirements.
Why You?Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • One of the following:
    • PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
    • Master's Degree with 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
    • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in analytical sciences supporting pharmaceutical, OTC drug products, consumer healthcare, wellness products, or related regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in liquid chromatography, analytical method development, method validation, and analytical troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex scientific data.
  • Experience working within GMP-regulated environments and understanding of quality and regulatory expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while maintaining high scientific standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across scientific and technical disciplines to achieve project goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry, Separation Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
  • Advanced expertise in separation sciences and chromatographic method development.
  • Experience supporting OTC drug products and/or consumer healthcare products.
  • Knowledge of ICH guidelines, GMP requirements, and quality management systems.
  • Experience mentoring junior scientists and providing technical leadership.

The salary range for this role is: $ 118,742-163,269 plus a 12% target bonus.
