The Opportunity
The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) is seeking an exceptional Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer to  lead the premier organization advancing sustainability across the global pet industry. This is a unique opportunity to shape an entire industry by convening competitors, inspiring collaboration, and accelerating measurable environmental and business impact. Through accreditation, benchmarking, education, collaborative initiatives, and thought leadership, PSC helps members translate sustainability into meaningful business and environmental outcomes.
Strategic Context
Sustainability is increasingly recognized as a driver of innovation, resilience, and long-term business success. As regulatory expectations, consumer preferences, investor scrutiny, and supply chain risks continue to evolve, PSC is uniquely positioned to help the industry respond. The next CEO will build on PSC's strong reputation by expanding its global influence, deepening member engagement, strengthening organizational sustainability, and positioning the coalition as the trusted catalyst for industry-wide transformation.

  • People leader who develops talent, accountability, and culture.
  • Ability to identify emerging opportunities and translate ideas into action.

  • Outstanding communication and public speaking skills.
  • Track record of building strategic partnerships.
  • Pet industry experience preferred.
Measures of Success
  • Recognized industry thought leadership.
  • Increased membership, retention, engagement, and organizational growth.
  • Industry collaboration that results in measurable environmental improvements across the pet sector.
  • Demonstrable progress against sustainability outcomes.
  • A financially healthy, scalable organization with a high-performing culture.
Why This Role
Few nonprofit leadership opportunities offer the chance to influence an entire industry. The CEO will help define how the pet industry collaborates, innovates, and delivers measurable sustainability outcomes while strengthening PSC as an indispensable partner for members around the world.
First-Year Focus
  • Build trust with members, partners, staff, and the Board.
  • Evaluate existing programs for relevance, impact, and financial sustainability while clarifying PSC's long-term strategic position.
