Job description

Marmon Retail Solutions The Sales Director leads the Walmart sales division of a manufacturing organization, driving revenue growth, market expansion, and customer satisfaction. This role oversees the performance and development of the Walmart Team, which includes Account Managers, Engineering and Project Management ensuring alignment between production capabilities and retail demand. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan that supports both short and long-term business goals, fosters strong partnerships with retail accounts, and ensures seamless collaboration between Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Sales Leadership Assist with development and implement a retail sales strategy aligned with manufacturing capacity, market trends, and corporate growth objectives. Set sales budgets, revenue targets, and performance metrics; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed. Collaborate with Operations and Production Planning to ensure accurate forecasting and product availability. Identify new retail channels, partnerships, and expansion opportunities.
  • Team Management & Development Lead, coach, and develop a team including Account Managers, Engineering and Project Manager roles. Establish clear KPIs and performance standards; conduct regular performance reviews and training initiatives. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure alignment between sales, customer service, and manufacturing teams to deliver on customer commitments.
  • Key Account & Retail Partner Management Manage strategic relationships with Walmart. Negotiate pricing, contracts and product listings to maximize profitability and brand presence. Resolve high-level customer issues and ensure excellent service delivery through effective cross-functional coordination.
  • Operational & Sales Performance Monitor and analyze sales performance, product mix, and market trends; prepare periodic reports and insights for executive leadership. Lead demand planning discussions with Operations and Supply Chain to optimize inventory and minimize back orders. Drive CRM utilization and ensure accurate pipeline and forecast management. Ensure compliance with company policies, trade terms, and ethical standards.
  • Business Growth & Market Development Identify opportunities for new product introductions and line extensions in collaboration with Product Development and Marketing. Conduct competitive analysis to guide pricing, promotions, and channel strategies. Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and industry associations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or related/equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales leadership within a retail or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success in managing Walmart and driving sales growth
  • Experience as a Walmart supplier preferred
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Retail Link).
