Job description

Experience Senior Living (ESL) and NexCore Group are bringing executive search in-house to build a scalable leadership talent engine capable of supporting rapid growth. The Senior Executive Recruiter serves as the organization's internal executive search partner, leading the identification, attraction, assessment, and hiring of exceptional leadership talent across ESL and NexCore.

This is not a traditional recruiting role. Acting with the rigor of a retained search consultant, the Senior Executive Recruiter owns the full lifecycle of leadership hiring for Executive Directors, Sales Directors, and key corporate leadership positions. Success is measured not only by filling roles quickly, but by the quality, performance, and retention of the leaders hired.

The role requires a highly visible market presence, leveraging travel, industry engagement, networking, and relationship-building activities to create proprietary talent pipelines that provide a competitive advantage in leadership hiring.

Key Responsibilities Executive Search
  • Lead full-cycle executive search for Executive Directors, Sales Directors, regional leadership, and corporate leadership positions.
  • Develop and execute targeted search strategies that identify and engage exceptional active and passive candidates.
  • Manage all phases of the hiring process, including intake, sourcing, assessment, candidate presentation, offer negotiation, and closing.
  • Build and maintain a robust leadership talent pipeline across current and future markets.
  • Conduct ongoing market mapping of competitors, leadership talent, and emerging industry leaders.
  • Develop long-term relationships with prospective candidates before hiring needs arise.
  • Create sustainable leadership benches that reduce future vacancy risk and improve organizational readiness.
Strategic Talent Advisory
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to divisional, regional, and executive leaders on leadership hiring strategy.
  • Partner with hiring leaders to define success profiles, calibrate expectations, and establish candidate evaluation criteria.
  • Provide market intelligence related to talent availability, compensation trends, and competitive hiring dynamics.
  • Maintain a high-quality hiring standard while balancing business urgency.
  • Lead compensation benchmarking, offer development, and executive-level negotiations.
  • Develop closing strategies that improve offer acceptance rates and successfully navigate counteroffers.
  • Ensure leadership hires align with both organizational needs and market realities.
Talent Analytics & Business Impact
  • Track and report key recruiting metrics, including:
  • Time-to-fill
  • Offer acceptance rates
  • Agency spend avoided
  • First-year retention of leadership hires
  • Utilize recruiting insights and market data to continuously improve search outcomes.
Industry Presence & Relationship Building
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for ESL and NexCore within the senior living and healthcare real estate industry.
  • Travel regularly to communities, operating markets, and industry events to develop high-value leadership relationships.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, including Argentum, ASHA, state associations, and regional networking events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Executive Directors, Sales Directors, operators, consultants, and industry influencers to create a continuous leadership talent pipeline.
  • Strengthen employer brand awareness and establish ESL and NexCore as employers of choice for top industry talent.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of executive search, retained search, or senior-level recruiting experience.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting executive, director-level, and other leadership positions.
  • Proven ability to identify, engage, and close passive candidates.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and candidates.
  • Experience conducting compensation benchmarking and negotiating complex offers.
  • Exceptional networking, relationship-building, and consultative skills.
  • Senior living, healthcare, hospitality, multi-site operations, or related industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 40-50% to support leadership recruiting, market development, and industry engagement activities.
  • Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 / year
  • Eligible for discretionary benefits: commission structure
  • Eligible for standard employee benefit elections: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, FSA, HSA, Commuter Benefits, Employee Assistance Program, Life Insurance (employee and dependents), Short-term disability (STD), Long-term disability (LTD), Accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), vacation days, sick days, and other benefits
