Job description

Join a rapidly expanding cardiovascular institute committed to building one of the premier Advanced Heart Failure programs in the Upper Midwest. Rather than replacing a retiring physician, this newly created position offers the rare opportunity to shape the future of an established program with significant institutional investment and executive support. You’ll step into a robust clinical practice backed by experienced APPs, fellowship-trained colleagues, advanced remote monitoring, and a thriving cardiovascular service line while helping develop next-generation heart failure services. Leadership opportunities are available from day one, allowing you to influence program growth, physician recruitment, and clinical strategy across a large regional referral network. If you’re seeking a position that blends clinical excellence, academic engagement, and the opportunity to build a lasting legacy, this is an exceptional career opportunity.

Position, Compensation & Organization Highlights

  • Lead and expand an established Advanced Heart Failure program with significant institutional investment
  • Flexible practice model including 100% Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Failure with Pulmonary Hypertension, or a hybrid Heart Failure/General Cardiology practice
  • Opportunity to serve as Medical Director or Program Director for Advanced Heart Failure
  • Clinical leadership for development of LVAD, Adult ECMO, cardiogenic shock, and pulmonary hypertension programs
  • Join one of the Upper Midwest’s largest cardiovascular institutes with General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Advanced Imaging, and Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Strong APP support for outpatient clinics, inpatient rounding, transitional care, and remote monitoring
  • Established CardioMEMS program with 360 enrolled patients and a large active heart failure population
  • Accredited General and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship programs with fellows providing first-call coverage
  • Teaching, clinical research, quality improvement, and protected academic time available
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary environment with Cardiothoracic Surgery, Critical Care, and regional transplant center partnerships
  • Opportunity to help establish destination therapy LVAD and Adult ECMO programs while expanding regional cardiovascular services

Compensation & Benefits

  • $700,000 guaranteed base salary for the first two years
  • Productive physicians projected to earn $800,000 annually after transition to the wRVU model
  • $150,000 sign-on bonus
  • Up to $10,000 relocation assistance
  • 20 days PTO plus 6 paid holidays
  • 10 CME days with a $5,000 annual CME allowance
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, malpractice with tail coverage, retirement plans, and deferred compensation options
