Position: Pharmaceutical Market Intelligence & Technology Transfer Analyst, Consultant

Location: San Francisco, CA (Full Remote)

Pharmatech Associates, the consulting arm of USP (United States Pharmacopeia), is a global life sciences consultancy with over 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, regulatory affairs, and technology transfer, supporting clients across biologics, biosimilars, vaccines, and advanced therapies.

Responsibilities
  • Seeking an experienced researcher with expertise in navigating and connecting international databases, particularly in identifying alternative access routes and workarounds when direct access to information is limited or unavailable.
  • Screen and validate pharmaceutical technology transfer partner candidates and their manufacturing capabilities.
  • Confirm partner commitments related to Middle East Pharmaceutical and biological markets.
  • Verify manufacturing depth and capability of government sponsored pharmaceutical programs.
  • Conduct a deep-dive analysis of lead drug supply chain structure, sourcing, and manufacturing footprint.
  • Assess Iranian supply chain dependency for specified Iranian-sourced products.
  • Compile findings into structured intelligence outputs for the final report.
  • Maintain clear documentation standards with traceable, source-based evidence for all findings.
Deliverables
  • Validated dataset of technology transfer partner capabilities.
  • Verified assessment of Middle East Pharmaceutical and biological markets.
  • Manufacturing capability mapping for government sponsored pharmaceutical programs.
  • Lead drug supply chain intelligence brief.
  • Middle East supply dependency analysis report.
  • Inputs to final report.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, chemistry, engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Strong capability in pharmaceutical market intelligence and secondary research.
  • Ability to systematically extract and validate information from:
    • Investor relations disclosures
    • Trade publications and industry intelligence sources
    • Regulatory and GMP databases (including WHO GMP listings)
    • National procurement and supply chain records
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical corporate structures and global manufacturing networks.
  • High attention to detail in source validation, documentation, and structured reporting.
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratory, or technical process engineering experience required.
  • This role is focused on intelligence gathering and analytical verification, not operational manufacturing expertise.
