The Team You'll Work With:
The Office of the First Deputy ensures that City government runs efficiently and focuses on many of the administration's top priorities - from creating opportunities for young people to strengthening the city's civic infrastructure - the office works in partnership with stakeholders inside and outside of city government to develop, scale, coordinate, and deliver policies, plans and operations in an equitable and sustainable way.
The Problems You'll Solve:
The Office of the First Deputy Mayor is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Assistant to the Chief of Staff to the First Deputy Mayor. This individual will work closely with the Office of the First Deputy Mayor's Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staffs and will provide critical executive and programmatic support for the team. This role will be responsible for operationally serving as a key liaison between the Chief of Staff, the First Deputy Mayor's team, and other stakeholders across the administration.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Manage the Chief of Staff's schedule, priorities, and workflow, and work with the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations to exercise judgment to ensure time is allocated strategically and meetings are prepared comprehensively.
-Serve as a point of contact for the Chief of Staff and work to triage requests, managing communications, and determining appropriate routing of issues to the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations.
-Support the Chief of Staff with research, analysis, stakeholder coordination, and implementation support.
-Anticipate challenges, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions proactively to keep operations running smoothly.
-Support with note-taking during meetings and ensure there is appropriate follow-up and meeting continuity.
-Work alongside the First Deputy Mayor's Special Assistant to support the First Deputy Mayor, including evenings and weekends.
-Report to the Chief of Staff of the First Deputy Mayor.

-You can work independently and within a fast-paced environment, as well as thrive in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
-You have exceptional written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
-You have experience working with multiple stakeholders.
-You have strong organizational and time management skills.
-You maintain professional maturity in representing the Office of the First Deputy Mayor.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree required.
-3+ years of experience.

1. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and one year of satisfactory, administrative, analytical, research, service, support, or computer related experience; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
