Position Summary:

Managesall warehouse activities. Manages the warehouse ensuring the receipt, co-ordination and safety of goods coming through a warehouse. Alsoensuresthat orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities. Familiar with a variety ofthe field'sconcepts, practices, and procedures.Relieson experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks in all aspects of the warehouse operation. Leads and directs the work of others. Typically reports to a senior manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Able to communicate andwork alongwith all employees.
  • Lead associates with daily tasks andwork loadpriorities.
  • Maintains a high standard for safety, cleanliness and overall work practices.
  • Responsible for completing daily shift paperwork.
  • Determines staffing needs based onwork loadand schedules staff accordingly.
  • Assigns workers to specific duties based onwork loadand shipping schedules.
  • Reviews and updates operational procedures as necessary andensuresthey are communicated to and understood by the warehouse associates.
  • Tracks productivity andqualifyperformance by individual, function, and department.
  • Works with Inventory Control to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy possible.
  • Advises employees on handling of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock controlrecords and recommend remedial actions to resolve
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
  • Ensuringall established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises30-50 associates.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
