D'IYANU is a leading e-commerce fashion brand inspired by African culture and modern design. We create bold, print-driven apparel for women, men, and children, serving customers around the world with premium products that celebrate heritage through contemporary fashion.

Position Summary

D'IYANU is seeking an experienced Fashion Print Designer to lead the creative development of seasonal prints and color direction across our women's, men's, and children's collections.

As the company's primary in-house print and color specialist, you will own the print development process from initial concept through production approval. Working closely with the Senior Designer and CEO, you will create original artwork, develop seasonal color palettes, manage print production, and ensure every design reflects the D'IYANU brand while meeting commercial and manufacturing requirements.

This role is ideal for a designer who combines exceptional creativity with strong technical knowledge of textile printing, production, and apparel development.

Responsibility:

  • Conduct trend, cultural, and market research to inform seasonal print and color direction across women’s, men’s, and children’s categories.
  • Develop seasonal print collections, including original artwork and colorways, aligned to brand identity, innovation goals, and commercial objectives.
  • Create and maintain productionready print files, including repeats, color separations, and technical specifications for digital, rotary, and screen printing.
  • Produce highquality digital CADs, renderings, and presentation materials by applying original textile prints and colorways to fashion croquis and mini bodies.
  • Execute precise print placement, scaling, and repeat alignment to ensure motif integrity, proportion, and consistency across silhouettes and size ranges.
  • Develop and maintain seasonal line sheets and PLM assets, ensuring accurate print and color representation to support merchandising, line planning, and sales needs.
  • Review, approve, and manage strikeoffs and lab dips, confirming color fidelity and quality standards prior to bulk production.
  • Serve as the primary print and color production liaison, coordinating with internal teams and external manufacturers to ensure accurate sampling, color execution, and on time delivery.
  • Own endtoend print and color workflows as the sole inhouse resource, managing timelines, approvals, asset organization, and crossfunctional communication.

  • Independent ownership: Operates autonomously as a sole inhouse resource, anticipating needs, driving decisions forward, and maintaining momentum with minimal oversight.
  • Qualitydriven execution: Maintains high standards for detail, consistency, and accuracy, reducing revisions and approval cycles through strong initial proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: 10+ years in apparel print, CAD, and color design.
  • Background in a small company or entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated capability designing for sweaters, including placement, scale, and knit-specific considerations, is strongly preferred.
