Job description

Innosight is a global strategy consulting firm focused on helping leading organizations design and create the future. We work with them to develop growth strategies, build innovation capabilities, and accelerate new growth initiatives. As a member of the Innosight team, you'll have the opportunity to work with leaders at Global 1000 companies to tackle some of the most interesting challenges in business.
We are the leading practitioners of disruptive innovation, building on the work of our co-founder, Harvard Business School professor Clay Christensen.
Because we focus on growth strategy and innovation, we bring unique expertise and authority to the challenges our clients face: Where is our next big opportunity, and what is our strategy to get there? How do we build an organization that is innovative and future focused? How do we disrupt ourselves before others do?
Our values - including humility, collaboration, transparency, and intellectual curiosity - guide our work with clients, with each other, and our commitment to enabling innovation in organizations.
Our work environment emphasizes the exchange of ideas, continuous learning, and collaboration. And our smaller team structure offers exposure to senior-level executives early in your consulting career.

Healthcare organizations must stay ahead of disruption by making data-driven decisions that accelerate transformation. Innosight thoroughly examines the intricate patient care challenges encountered by payor and provider healthcare entities to stabilize business today and create tomorrow's growth engine. As trusted strategic partners to CEOs and C-Suites, we help drive the healthcare industry forward by designing innovative enterprise-level long-term plans and partnerships for the world's leading healthcare organizations.
As a Senior Director on Innosight's Healthcare Provider Strategy & Innovation team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and boards of leading healthcare organizations. You will originate and lead transformative strategy engagements, develop innovative growth models, and help healthcare leaders navigate disruption, market uncertainty, and evolving industry dynamics.
Senior Directors play a critical leadership role within Innosight. They build enduring client relationships, generate significant new business, oversee complex engagements, and develop high-performing consulting teams. They bring deep healthcare provider expertise, exceptional strategic thinking, and a demonstrated ability to convert ideas and relationships into meaningful client impact and sustainable revenue growth.
This is a high-responsibility, high-impact opportunity for an accomplished healthcare strategy leader who combines intellectual curiosity, commercial leadership, and a passion for shaping the future of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise Healthcare Executives: Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs, executive leadership teams, and boards on their most important strategic, growth, innovation, and transformation priorities.

  • Lead Enterprise Strategy Engagements: Provide senior leadership across complex, multi-workstream engagements focused on enterprise strategy, growth, business model transformation, market positioning, partnerships, service line strategy, and organizational transformation.

  • Drive Business Development: Originate and close significant new engagements, build and manage a strong pipeline, lead proposals and negotiations, and expand relationships across new and existing healthcare provider clients.

  • Build Enduring Client Relationships: Develop trusted advisor relationships with senior decision-makers and cultivate long-term partnerships that generate repeat business, positive references, and sustained revenue growth.

  • Shape Innovative Growth Strategies: Help clients anticipate disruptive market forces, identify new sources of growth, evaluate emerging business models, and develop actionable strategies for long-term success.

  • Provide Strategic and Intellectual Leadership: Frame complex and ambiguous problems, formulate compelling hypotheses, and integrate qualitative and quantitative insights into differentiated, actionable recommendations.

  • Ensure Engagement Excellence: Oversee major client engagements and maintain accountability for client impact, team performance, project economics, delivery quality, and the overall client experience.

  • Advance Innosight's Market Position: Represent Innosight through executive presentations, industry forums, publications, thought leadership, and other market-facing activities.

  • Develop and Inspire Talent: Attract, mentor, and develop high-performing consulting professionals while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and intellectually rigorous team environment.

  • Collaborate Across Huron: Build relationships across Innosight and Huron to bring the firm's broader capabilities to clients and create integrated opportunities for growth.

Required Experience

  • Management Consulting Experience:Prior management consulting experience is required, including experience advising healthcare provider organizations.

  • Healthcare Provider Strategy Experience:At least 10 years of relevant experience working with healthcare providers on strategic initiatives such as enterprise strategic planning, growth and market strategy, business model innovation, service line strategy, M&A and partnerships, provider alignment, and enterprise transformation.

  • Healthcare Provider Expertise:Deep knowledge of the healthcare provider industry and experience serving organizations such as hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, physician groups, and ambulatory care organizations.

  • Business Development Track Record:Proven success developing senior client relationships and originating, expanding, and closing significant consulting engagements with new and existing clients.

  • Executive Advisory Experience:Demonstrated credibility with healthcare C-suite executives and boards, with the presence, judgment, and interpersonal skills to serve as a trusted advisor on complex strategic issues.

  • Engagement Leadership:Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-workstream consulting engagements while maintaining accountability for client impact, team performance, project economics, and delivery quality.

  • Strategic Thinking and Communication:Exceptional ability to structure ambiguous problems, synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights, and translate complex ideas into clear, compelling executive-level recommendations and presentations.

  • Talent and Team Leadership:Proven ability to attract, coach, and develop exceptional consulting talent while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.

  • Travel and Home Office:Travel requirements vary by client and project. Candidates must be willing to travel as needed and may live anywhere in the contiguous United States near a major airport.
