Job description

Job Title: Executive Housekeeper
Location: Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott - Foley, AL
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: General Manager

Position Summary:
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the housekeeping department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and team performance. This leadership role includes managing housekeeping operations, supervising staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with Marriott brand standards and safety protocols. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and supervise the housekeeping team including room attendants, laundry attendants, and housemen.

  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas for cleanliness, maintenance, and proper setup.

  • Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations based on occupancy.

  • Maintain and manage inventory of linen, cleaning supplies, and amenities. Place timely orders as needed.

  • Ensure all rooms meet or exceed Marriott cleanliness and presentation standards.

  • Monitor and uphold safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in all areas.

  • Address guest concerns and special requests promptly and professionally.

  • Work closely with the front desk and maintenance departments to ensure smooth communication and guest satisfaction.

  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions to develop staff and uphold high standards.

  • Participate in budget management and cost control efforts for the housekeeping department.

  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or hospitality certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of housekeeping supervisory experience, preferably in a branded hotel environment.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, cleaning techniques, and inventory management.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

  • Familiarity with Marriott brand standards and systems (e.g., MGS, FOSSE) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.

  • Capable of bending, kneeling, and reaching as needed to perform inspections or assist staff.
