Aleknagik Natives Limited (ANL) is seeking an experienced and highly organized professional to serve as our next Executive Assistant & Board Member Coordinator. This is a unique leadership support position that sits at the center of executive operations, board governance, and strategic execution. This position is a hybrid full-time, with travel to Aleknagik, Dillingham, and other locations as required.

As ANL continues to implement its Strategic Plan, this role will become a critical member of the executive team, ensuring that our President/CEO and Board of Directors are supported by exceptional coordination, organization, and follow-through.

This is far more than a traditional administrative position. The successful candidate will be a trusted partner to executive leadership, a steward of good governance, and an important contributor to the future growth and success of our Alaska Native Village Corporation.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Executive Assistant & Board Member Coordinator provides high-level executive and governance support to the ANL leadership team.

This position serves as the primary coordinator for the Board of Directors while managing executive scheduling, travel, communications, strategic initiatives, and organizational priorities.

The individual selected for this role will help ensure that the right people have the right information at the right time, enabling ANL leadership to focus on long-term strategy, shareholder services, partnerships, and organizational growth.

The Executive Assistant & Board Member Coordinator will help ensure that ANL remains organized, responsive, and focused on achieving its long-term vision.

Primary Responsibilities

Executive Leadership Support

  • Manage and prioritize the President/CEO's calendar and schedule.
  • Coordinate executive travel and conference participation.
  • Prepare briefing materials, agendas, presentations, and talking points.
  • Draft correspondence, memorandums, and executive communications.
  • Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive matters.
  • Track executive commitments and follow-up actions.

Board Governance Coordination

  • Coordinate all Board of Directors and committee meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute board packets and supporting materials.
  • Maintain board calendars and governance schedules.
  • Coordinate director travel and reimbursements.
  • Track resolutions, action items, and governance records.
  • Support board orientation and continuing education efforts.
  • Maintain board policies, disclosures, and required documentation.

Strategic Planning and Organizational Coordination

  • Assist with implementation of ANL's Strategic Plan Goals.
  • Monitor annual and three-year strategic priorities.
  • Track organizational initiatives and deadlines.
  • Support executive reporting and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate annual planning and strategic retreats.

Shareholder and Corporate Support

  • Assist in the planning and execution of Annual Meetings.
  • Support shareholder communications and notices.
  • Coordinate community and shareholder engagement events.
  • Provide support for special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience providing executive, governance, administrative, or organizational leadership support;
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, boards of directors, elected officials, or executive leadership teams;
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams;
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision;
  • The highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Alaska Native Corporations;
  • Tribal governments or tribal organizations;
  • Board governance and parliamentary procedures;
  • Public administration;
  • Nonprofit leadership support;
  • Government or quasi-government organizations;
  • Event planning and large meeting coordination;

Strategic planning implementation.

A bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, organizational leadership, public administration, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
