Job description

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Upland, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Upland, CA

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in Upland, CA
  • Schedule: 24 hours per month; 4 sessions a week for 1.5 hours
  • Rate is between $25 and $35 per hour

Ideal Candidate:

  • Active teaching credential required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred
  • Experience working with high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Strong academic background in Algebra 1, English, Biology, and Spanish 1
  • Skilled in executive functioning coaching, including organization, time management, and task completion
  • Patient, structured, and motivating with the ability to keep students focused and engaged
  • Experienced in supporting homework completion and improving academic performance in general education settings
  • Able to break down assignments into manageable steps and provide consistent accountability
  • Strong communication and rapport-building skills with neurodiverse learners
  • Comfortable incorporating student interests and interactive strategies to increase engagement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized academic support in Algebra 1, English, Biology, and Spanish 1
  • Prioritize homework completion, assignment tracking, and grade improvement across core subjects
  • Teach executive functioning strategies including organization, planning, time management, and study skills
  • Help the student stay focused and engaged through structured, supportive instruction
  • Break down complex assignments and concepts into manageable, step-by-step tasks
  • Reinforce comprehension, problem-solving, writing, and academic independence skills
  • Create a calm, motivating learning environment that promotes confidence and accountability
  • Incorporate student interests such as Roblox, Minecraft, VR, and gaming into lessons when appropriate
  • Collaborate with parents and monitor academic progress across subjects
  • Conduct an optional assessment if needed to guide instructional planning and support goals
