What is an Executive Function Coach?

An Executive Function Coach is a professional who helps individuals develop skills related to planning, organization, time management, and self-regulation. These coaches work with clients who may struggle with executive functioning due to ADHD, learning differences, or other challenges. They use personalized strategies and tools to support clients in areas such as goal setting, prioritizing tasks, and overcoming procrastination. The ultimate goal is to help clients become more independent and effective in managing their daily responsibilities and achieving their personal or academic goals.

How does an Executive Function Coach typically collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support clients?

Executive Function Coaches often work closely with teachers, parents, and sometimes therapists to create a consistent support network for their clients. This collaboration may involve sharing progress updates, discussing strategies for organization or time management, and adapting approaches based on feedback from all stakeholders. By maintaining open communication, the coach ensures that clients receive cohesive guidance both in and out of sessions, which is especially valuable for students managing academic workloads or adults balancing multiple responsibilities.

What is the difference between Executive Function Coach vs Academic Coach?

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Executive Function Coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Function Coach, you need expertise in educational strategies, learning differences, and cognitive development, often supported by a degree in education, psychology, or related fields. Familiarity with coaching frameworks, online communication tools, and assessment systems like the Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function (BRIEF) is common. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to motivate and individualize support help coaches build trust and foster growth in clients. These skills ensure that clients receive effective, personalized strategies to improve organization, time management, and self-regulation.

Job description

Vice President of Sales (Player-Coach)
Connected Manufacturing
Connected Manufacturing is hiring a hands-on revenue leader to build and scale our commercial engine as we enter our next phase of growth.
We are a $5.5M digital manufacturing and consulting firm working with mid-market and enterprise manufacturers to deliver PLM, MES/MOM, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 transformation programs.
Why This Role Exists
We have strong delivery capability and established client relationships-but we have not yet built a predictable, scalable revenue engine. This role exists to change that.
The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for:
  • Building pipeline from the ground up
  • Personally leading and closing enterprise deals
  • Establishing a repeatable go-to-market motion
  • Scaling the revenue function over time
  • This is a player-coach role. You will both sell and build.
What You'll Do
  • Personally drive new business development and close enterprise deals ($250K-$1M+)
  • Build and manage a $15M-$20M+ pipeline
  • Develop and refine go-to-market strategy for manufacturing clients
  • Establish a repeatable sales motion and forecasting discipline
  • Leverage industry relationships, partners, and networks to generate demand
  • Align closely with delivery to ensure successful execution and margin discipline
  • Build and lead the future sales organization
  • What Success Looks Like
  • First 12 Months:
  • Build $20M+ qualified pipeline
  • Close $3M-$4M in new and expansion revenue
  • Establish a repeatable enterprise sales motion
  • Lay the foundation for a scalable sales organization
Who This Role Is For
  • You have personally closed $2M-$5M+ annually in complex enterprise deals
  • You have experience in manufacturing technology, industrial software, or consulting
  • You are comfortable selling into COO, VP Operations, Engineering, and IT stakeholders
  • You thrive in building from scratch-not just managing an existing team
  • You are equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the deal room
This Role Is Not For:
  • Leaders who primarily manage teams but do not sell
  • Candidates who rely on large existing pipelines or SDR organizations
  • Executives seeking a purely strategic or oversight role
Compensation
  • Base Salary: $160K-$190K
  • Target OTE: $250K-$300K
  • Significant upside through performance accelerators
  • Equity or long-term incentives available for the right candidate
  • Compensation for this position is competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, executive experience, demonstrated track record, and relevant industry expertise, while also taking into consideration current market compensation data and geographic location.
Location
Fully Remote (U.S. East Coast, UK, or Ireland preferred)
Why Join Connected Manufacturing
  • Opportunity to build the revenue engine from the ground up
  • Direct partnership with the CEO and executive team
  • High-impact role shaping the next phase of company growth
  • Exposure to large-scale digital manufacturing transformation programs
  • Clear path to evolving into a CRO role as the company scales
Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement: Connected Manufacturing is an equal opportunity employer. We offer a welcoming and inclusive environment in service to one another, our projects, the diverse consumers we represent, and the global communities in which we work and call home. We do all of this with kindness, empathy, and respect for each other.
