What is the difference between Executive Force Protection vs Security Specialist?

AspectExecutive Force ProtectionSecurity Specialist
CredentialsSecurity clearance, firearms training, protective security certificationsSecurity license, basic security training
Work EnvironmentHigh-security, executive protection, mobile or static securityVarious settings including commercial, retail, or event security
Employer & IndustryGovernment agencies, private security firms, corporationsPrivate companies, security firms, retail, or event venues

Executive Force Protection and Security Specialist roles both involve security duties, but Executive Force Protection focuses on protecting high-profile individuals in high-security environments, often requiring advanced certifications and specialized training. Security Specialists have broader roles across various settings with less emphasis on executive protection. The key difference lies in the level of security detail and the specific environment.

The Simon Agency is seeking experienced Executive Protection Specialists to become part of the Operational Readiness Network (ORN)—a carefully selected network of protective professionals strategically positioned throughout our licensed jurisdictions to support executive protection operations for corporate executives, public officials, legal teams, family offices, and other high-profile clients.

ORN was established with a single objective: ensuring qualified professionals are identified, vetted, credentialed, and operationally prepared before they are needed. Members of ORN are considered for assignments based upon client requirements, operational needs, qualifications, licensing, geographic location, and availability.

This is an ongoing recruitment initiative designed to build and maintain operational readiness. Qualified applicants may be considered for current and future assignments as opportunities arise.

Depending upon client requirements and assignment scope, Executive Protection Specialists may be responsible for:

  • Executive and dignitary protection

  • Political executive protection

  • Executive travel support

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Emotional intelligence
